@cristian @dustin
Thanks
@tat
I used Revell 16 Sandy Yellow. BTW I'm in love with your Pz IV. Can't wait to see it finished.
Cheers

Raj - I too like your yellow. It is a strong enough color to look good on its own without and brown or green patches.
Tat - I'm glad to see you are making progress with the King Kong Panzer IV. How did you assemble your Magic Tracks? I have read that some use some sort of slow drying liquid cement. The stuff I use is pretty aggressive, far too fast for track assembly.

Thanks Raj, Paul. Working double time to get this across by the deadline
I used Tamiya Thin for the Magic Tracks. Come to think of it I've used such not only for tracks in my last couple of builds. Tamiya has this Limonene variant for both thin and regular glues -- it has a lemony scent that I find better to work with. Drying time is ok, I was able to work on shaping the tracks about 30 minutes after gluing a whole run of 102 links. I think you can work beyond that, but I'd say between 20 to 30 minutes would be just right.
Cheers,
Tat

I have been very reluctant to mess with individual link tracks and part of it is the glue. The stuff I use is sold for commercial acrylic assembly and it welds hard & fast. If you move it later it would rather break. It is perfect for general assembly. Tracks HAVE to look right on a tank model so it will be worthwhile trying a different glue.

I had to stop working on the Nagmachon a while ago because of work and stuff.. and I actually thought the deadline for this campaign was over already.. just found out there's still a couple of weeks left... So, Cristian, can I still try to make it? I actually started working on it again a couple of days ago, and I still have the "doghouse" to finish.. So, if you say it's OK, I'll post a pic of what I've done so far and I'll try to finish it on time?

@Brian: Congrats on the upcoming big change in your life! I can imagine extending the deadline by two weeks if that would give you enough time to finish. Some people are waiting for their brand new badges and we plan on starting the 750+ campaign, too so we shouldn't push out the finish line on this one too much. Would that work for you?
@Tat: Superb build! The weathering on the lower hull is OUTSTANDING!
@Hisham: Please do post the pictures! We still have two weeks of regular campaign time with another two optional extension weeks (see above). I hope that will give you enough time to finish your model. It would be a shame not to have such an interesting build included in the end!

Thanks Cristian! Starting to get comfortable working with oils -- still a lot to learn though. The additional two weeks is most welcome!

Wow, lots going on here and some nice looking completions and nearly dones
Well last post Oct last year when I joined, now have 2 weeks to get this, but that's doable Have yet to decide on paint scheme, but no weathering for this monster so that will cut down on time
This is basically where I was at pre starting
and this is where I got to when I remembered to take my first pic after enlisting in this campaign
Haven't touched the thing in the last 10months but here is where I am after last couple of days (after figuring out what's needed to be done)
The hardest part was always going to be the soldering involved but after todays efforts on the grills pictured below, I'm confident
And as pictured back on page 5, this is whats being used for this build

@Andrew: What a mix! I'm glad you're back to finish this. We actually, have decided to have a two weeks extension so you have about a month to go.
@Hisham: The build looks superb! Really looking forward to see this finished. I'm still kind of intimidated by one-shade, desert schemes.

Hisham - I can see why your project is so complicated. It looks almost like a science fiction vehicle. I look forward to seeing what the doghouse adds.

Hisham - Wow, what a beast! It has so many fandangos on it I'm not really sure what it is exactly. The frou-frou sure breaks up the shape making it harder to pick out a shape to aim at . . .
Christian - I'm sure a lot of folks could use extra time to complete these more complicated builds. My own Stug III A is all but done. I had in mind adding the carefully loomed tow cables with brackets to hold it in place.
This proved impractical at this late stage in the build so I am going a different way based on some photos in a newly published book on these vehicles. I should have it completed this weekend.

@Hisham: Looks great... and so imbricate! This will surely be an eye-catcher when done!
@Paul: Looking forward to see "the end product"! I'm really impressed by the amount of work you are willing to put into your models.

First trial dry fitting of the bar armour was a bit of a disaster.. I had to break off a couple of the brackets which the bar armour hangs on to realign them correctly... I'm still going to finish it, one way or another
By the way, when It's done, do I post the final pics here, or did you set up a thread for that?

Some progress.. I think I'll be able to make it on time.. Just need to do some detail painting, touch ups and decaling.. and if I get some time, I'll do some weathering.
Black primer (Mr Surfacer 1500 Black).. and an IDF sand grey which I mixed up.. no formula, I just started with Tamiya Khaki and grey, then added a little bit of this to a little bit of that till I got a shade I thought looked good enough
