Hello everyone,
Photobucket doesn't work at this important time, so I use the other way.

A real monster. Hard to take the pics with sharpness.
Regards,
K.

Thanks for your watching, Thirian.

2P19 tracked launcher + R-17 (SS-1C) missile = Soviet 8K14 missile system. Used in the cold war. It's the precursor of the popular 9M117M wheeled Scub-B.

The kit is from Trumpeter, SN 01024, in 2015. The first challenge is a pair of headlight guards (weak PE), the second is the hydraulic pipes for launcher.

Firstly thanks to you Cristian for running a fantastic campaign and giving extra time as well.

My build was both fun and very frustrating. I still lack the skill to make models to a good standard but learn something with every build which is why I take part.

I did not have enough time spent on the model to do it justice so the interior is not painted beyond a base coat. The tracks were a challenge, then I could not get the top and bottom half of the hull together properly. But as it is I will have to call my build complete. Some fantastic builds been done so well done to all who took part.

Here are some progress shots.

and shots of the 'finished' model. Rough I know.

Congrats on the finished build, Brian!

Don't be too hard on yourself Your model turned out pretty decent, to be honest.

We all have our good and not so good finishes Brian. What matters is learning from the experience and moving on, striving for the better. Double congratutaltions to you -- not only on your finish but most importantly making that commitment with your partner!

Ribbons have been sent! Please check your profile page and let me know in case anyone is still missing its own even after 24 hours.

Thank you everyone for participating in this campaign! We had a high number of even higher standard builds.

I enjoyed the watching the builds take shape but most importantly being part of this friendly and supportive community.

Thank you! On to the next campaign!

Brian - Most of the new tank kits from MENG, Takom and Rye Field Models exceed 750. You'd just have to make sure.

Brian I think you did a very respectable job on a kit, that if I recall, does have some upper hull lower hull fit issues. So long as you had fun you are on the right track. As you improve your skills and techniques you will be able to overcome many if not most obstacles that you may encounter in your builds. If you have questions or run into a rough patch do not hesitate to ask your question on the forum. Chances are very good that someone else has encountered the same difficulty and probably has a solution. Congrats of a fine build.

Thank you. I need to sort time management out and of course it is great advice 'if I don't know then I should ask'

Brian, what comes easily to my mind are the Dragon Pz IV super-kits, like the Ausf C or D, even E if I recall correctly. Then again it depends on your interest -- which nationality? Era? -- that may help narrow down your choices.

Before anything else, I guess we need to take this discussion to the 750+ thread. Am sure Cristian would want to us start building up on that discussion.

Cheers,

Tat

I agree with Tat! This is indeed an interesting discussion we should definitely take over to the 750+ thread.

Johhar, you may want to join the 500+ MkII campaign, this one finished in October 2016.
