Tat - I love the tones you achieved on your half track. It looks realistic to my eyes. I'm working on one for the Skdf 250/251 campaign and will keep your blending in mind!

Am happy that the finishing went well. Working with oils sure gives that nice effect. Still need to practice though. Also on the chips which I still need to get the confidence to do.

This is the progress so far on the T-74 MBT. The turret is a mixture between a T-72 and a T-64. I have done a new mantlet, added weld beads to the turret. I have still ways to go to finish the turret.
I have also started working on the hull; a lot of sanding done. I will add new KMT mounts and tow hooks.
I also think that it would be great to have a deadline extension.

I don't think mine would have qualified anymore-I've done so many mods to it that it's a sdKfz 7.5 Fastback.

I didn't make it. The guy I'm building it for wanted some alterations made so I ran out of time.

Yes i should have done a bit more the last months but, oh well it's a "dog" ,.. most likely I will touchup the model and add some oils and weathering but for now I leave it like this and call it done.
I made use to practice my hand painting,.. and although i see fantastic results i still need to put more work into it.
Anyway if i add the model to the base it looks a lot better i though.
One thing i need to add, in the campaign rules it stated that we needed to do one thing we never did before well i tried to use white glue for the Photo Etch parts,.. and much to my delight it works and it works actually much better than i ever expected plus it has an "extra" bonus it's not that bad for your health than the other options,.. so thanks for getting this model done

Jan - Congrats on your very nice & rapid build. I was impressed with the thin lines between colors. Was that done with a brush? If so, you must have a wonderfully steady hand!

While building the Hotchkiss H39 I got to wondering about the tail. As I understand it, the tail was added as an afterthought to the late production vehicles.
The one picture I have of the actual vehicle I modeled shows the tail had been removed. Why had it been added? Why had it been removed? Was this the last tank built with a tail?

I believe the tail was dropped to act as an anchor when firing the gun to avoid excessive recoil? Might be thinking of an older tank.
