Hey Cheyenne! I wanted to throw some lurker admiration at this marvelously destructed construction you have put before us. Your miniaturization of the everyday leaves me stunned and almost jealous. You and Stick and the others. Between all of these great builds on the site, I feel like a caffeinated squirrel in the middle of the White Horse Pike! So many ideas, techniques and just plain "WOW". Thanks for putting your imagination out there for us to see

Mike ,thanks as always man .
Paul , thanks dude , glad I'm inspirin .
Kurt , thanks man !!
Patrick , thanks buddy !!
Dave , thanks man , always been a rocker since the mid 60's , yup use any and every media I got , whatever it takes to make it work !! ......... and if that don't work , find something else that'll fill the bill .
Phil , thanks man we build for fun , it's what we do , for me it's my relax time when I'm at the bench , but it's cool to share and hopefully others will do their thing , then we all can learn and be inspired and share our work together .

Not a lot to show , been lumbered at work and haven't had time to do any real bench time so I built a chain link fence .
Screwed up some too , got the links going one way on the busted up fence section , and taother way on the front section , .................................................. don't tell anybody ...................
The chain link stuff is from Michaels , I think it's used in paper mache work [ spelled that wrong ] .
The posts are hollow alum tubing and the caps are small brad heads .

Hi Cheyenne,
Love the fence! Looks like somebody broke into the vat and decided to begin Happy Hour on their own!

Well I don't have much to show for being away from the bench for over a month .
Too much work to open the schools and then there was the four cords of firewood that I split and stacked ........ chewed up a few weekends there , that sucked .
Working on this water tower , nothings glued down , one leg is a little wonky for the photo shoot .
Still needs ladders and weather applied .

Well back to the bench and football fer the rest of the day

Did wake up this morning , sat out at the Tiki bar with my coffee and saw this , actually I see it every day and have loads of pics of the sunbeam but I'll share this one .

You say you didn't get much done but it sure looks like a boatload of work to me !! Nice additions and it all looks great. Prime example that you don't need to spend a lot of cash on aftermarket to get a dio to look great. A bit of ingenuity goes a long long way.
Nice update.
I also now see the full extent of the perimeter for this. I didn't know it was going to be so big. Nice.

First lemmie introduce you to my little girl .
She's a rescue dog .
She was found by some truck driver under a bridge in Tennessee along with her mom and eleven brothers and sisters .
She's a Redbone Coon Hound/Lab mix .
She's an angel ..........................

Jerry thanks fer commentin way back in Sept. gotta use the bench more . I'm a little peed about my progress .
Not all that satisfied on my attempt at the water in the tower either , yet it is what it is and I'll have to lumber on .

If it were me, I'd call the water tower alone a work of art. But to have a "just a part" of a dio is pretty incredible.

Your attention to detail is amazing. Yet another craftsman in the world of dioramas...

Thanks for keeping my eyeballs entertained!

Hey Cheyenne, great work, as we have become accustomed to.
But with the latest additions, it really itches me to say that they have that distinctively "North American" feel to them...
I've never seen water towers like this in combination with a city building like a public pool. They exist(ed) in industrial areas/ for railway installations, and you may have a central municipal water tower, but the one depicted in your diorame to me is highly reminiscent of North American towns and cities.Same goes with the beer tank, it doesn't strike me as something European.

What do the Eurpoean fellows think? I'm not trying to be a pain in the posterior, but since you're aiming at a high degree of accuracy with your main building, I thought I'd share my thoughts...

Thanks for the comments guys , bonaparte no problem man , without being able to lay the whole thing out it is difficult to get the whole town picture .

The beer tank against the building is supposed to be a water tank for the pool , the beer sign is advertising .

The water tower is not in connection with the pool building but a water tower for the town .
I based it on these German , French water tower refs from the 30's - 40's.
I wanted to build this municipal German water tower at first but space considerations shot that down .

My municipal water tower was morphed from these .

Well, that pretty much clears that up ! Good refs and great work on the tower, etc. I love the roof tiles and support system.
To be perfectly honest though, something about the bullet or shrapnel holes doesn't fool my eye like the rest. Is it supposed to be bullet holes?

Hiya Jerry , thanks man , yeah , kinda screwed up , shoulda been jagged exit wounds instead of round holes .
I should be able to correct that .
The idea was an aerial burst close to the tower not a direct hit , which also means some concussion damage to the deck and eventual railing .

Onwards ............

The good news is only folks that have seen actual shell damage would even know if it looks right or not ! Also, pay attention to making the holes random and not evenly spaced or equal in size. You have probably read me before saying how hard it is to not be symmetrical? I have to check myself all of the time as we humans like to do that unconsciously. Romain and I used to talk about that a lot. It all still looks awesome here though, just sayin'.
