Retired March 31st so I've been trading off building and sitting at me Tiki bar drinkin booze out of a coconut .............

Almost forgot , yes the back wall is destroyed but the enterprising owner has scaffolding and masons to be patching things up .
Wouldn't want to loose any business , Germans in town or not .

cheyenne, this truly is some stunning work. I stumbled upon this soon after you started the build but have waited in the wings just watching in amazement. Your eye for detail is unmatched. Your detail painting is perfect. It really is starting to come together sir.

Man you sure have been busy. Retirement has speeded you up maybe ? The amount of detail you have added is very impressive to say the least man. It is that little stuff that always makes a dio come alive I think.

Jerry , thanks yup got nothing but time now . The little komandant still works and I do the housework and cook but I love cooking so there is no problem there .

The long table by the front windows will be populated by a German radio team and such . There will be other figs also inside .
Then covered by the third attic floor [ which will be removable ] with an observation group .

So will this be early war,conquest of France or later,during the retreat ?

Someone translated the pool wall signs in the pool ref pic and said it had to be in Belgium . Something about both languages being used on the walls .

Yeah , I know I'll more than likely never finish my never ending current project but I'm having fun building stuff and one day I'll finish it .
Meantime I'm itching to build this .
Looks like a Marine nco club , gotta be Hawaii .The structure is too well built to be on an island in the Pacific and the Marines look to be dressed in early - pre war garb - pith helmets .
Also looks to be Xmas with the decorations .
Any way I'd love to build this scene .
Figures will be a bear but I'll figure something out .
Gotta love that ships wheel mirror .
Also I can build another pool table even tho it's not in the ref pic .

That NCO club would sure be a challenge but worth the effort!
I love the Jimi Hendrix mention as well. One of my guitar gods from the 60s. I just watched an awesome biopic on him last week called"Jimi,all is by my side." The young man playing Jimi had him DOWN ! I thought I was watching the real Jimi!
Anyway,I remember some of his personal story and am not sure how accurate it was but it really brought back memories of that time for me.

Cheyenne, Ma Polish Brotha from another Motha, ya got me beat. I'm Polish/Austrian (Dad's side) and then some French Canadian got in there, (me Mum's side) HA! Heck, when my Western Canadian friends found out about the French Canadian mix they disowned me, go figure......... But I'm hard core bleeding Red, White, and Blue, so I'm really just a Yank.

Ok, now the NCO club, part of another project or are you thinking of injecting something along these lines into this current project? I didn't catch the jist of your discussion.

I would say it will be another fun build, without a doubt, nothing stopping production except imagination.....oh ya, and having to go to work, lol!

I enjoyed reading the whole story there! This is an incredible undertaking and was worth every single second I have spent reading it.
I look forward to seeing more progress and the future build. That ship's wheel mirror will be a nice challenge.
