Jerry ,thanks man .
Dvsand , thank you also man .
Patrick , nonsense critique away man that's how everyone learns and gets better at things , both of us .
You're absolutely right about the spiral stairs .
I tried small scale chain , more wood veneer ship plank , just couldn't get it to lay right , it's a different angle than the ship plank I used on the treads .
Sooooo , I had to settle for a taught cable .
The stairs will be among a lot of debris so hopefully I can use the artistic license card .
However I will stand by the door handles .
Today's pocket doors glide effortlessly on greased ball bearings in a casing .
My Grandmother had pocket doors all through her Victorian house big heavy ornate knockers [ the door not my Grandmother ] in Clifton N.J. , they didn't glide effortlessly and you needed a sturdy handle to open and close them .
You were pulling a heavy oak door left to right or vice versa , not swinging in or out on hinges .
One thing you also have to remember is when you tell your Grandmother you'll install a phone jack for her in the library , don't I repeat don't drill through the baseboard and the closed pocket door in the wall , ......... dam thing won't open ............... yep that was me I did that .
Poor old lady couldn't figure out why she couldn't close the darn door , caught hell for that one .
Look more in scale with some figgies ?
