Thanks guys for the tip to become a subscriber. The enjoyment I get here on Armorama is well worth the cost and I can keep the pictures all right here for the time being.

Hey fellas. There is some nice looking work in here.
I'm finally on days off, so I started working on this beast again. I really like how the suspension is movable. This has me thinking about buying some Friul tracks and building a small base for this.

Yes, I'd hate to see that suspension system go to waste to a static display....

Gun breech, etc. done. Fell together nicely.

The gun itself is not glued in yet. It's just a test fit.

@ Dustin. Nice looking Elefant (or is it a Ferdinand?). Is that the Tamiya kit? Looks very nice.

Matthew, thank you!
Yes this is Tamiya's Elefant. It's a nice simple and easy kit.

well i managed to get a start on with the british para PIAT Team and you can see here that most of the basic construction of the two figures has now been completed. i did run into a two problems, one was that the super glue didnt want to bond with some of th parts, thankfully that has now been sorted. the second is that the molding isn't as good as it used to be and there are a few pin hole air bubbles in the figures which resulted in the trigger guard breaking away and will need to be replaced later on.

That Wolverine is looking pretty good as it is. Is this the Academy kit? I have one of those kicking around someplace.

It's the new Tamiya, a very nice kit, I recommend it hardily...

David,
I love that kitmakers have gone so far to give us finer, more detailed parts. If only our aging eyes and fingers could keep up.

Not getting a lot of time to model at the moment but have managed a bit of progress on the 17pdr.
Gun shield

Barrel

Legs

A couple of parts for a container were mislabeled in the instructions, fortunately it was an easy pickup. B13, and B17 were called out as C13 and C17. However the C sprue only goes up to 16 and C13 is part of the recoil shovel assembly.

One of my modeling pals & I went to the tank museum in SoCal this last Saturday and saw a Scorpion parked right next to an Ontos. I had thought they were based on the same chassis but that is obviously not true. Its great to see this old Revell kit being built.

That Elephant has so many interesting shapes & angles that it could almost pass for something in service now. I gotta get me one of those!

Iain,
Good to see some progress on your 17lb AT gun. I'm impressed by the length of the gun barrel and the small parts you've added to the breech and trails.
I find that I never get as much time to build as I desire.

Dustin,
You can't go wrong with Friuls. They just look and feel so tank-ish. They sag just right, and if you want to highlight the movement of the tank's suspension, they just fall into place naturally.
Just bear in mind that when it came to proving how good it's suspension system was, the Ferdinand/Elefant was just too heavy.

I have been working hammer & tong on the Trumpeter KV-5 "Tiger Hunter." A couple of modeling pals have been sharing the delights of entering a model contest at this coming weekend's OrangeCon. I have never entered a contest before even when I was a kid so this is something new. I understand there is even a category for folks with more modest skills like myself. "We" selected two of my recent builds and this KV-5 project.
So the hurry is on and I have been burning the midnight oil to get it done. The biggest single issue outside of finding the time to work is drying time for the various paints and glues. Some things just need time before you can move on to the next step. If I do make it, it will be less than three weeks from soup to nuts. We'll just have to see how it goes in the two remaining evenings left to work . . .

I finished building the Jagdpanzer E-100 earlier today. I need to finish up some sanding and putty work before I paint, but the construction is done. I will also add some texture to the surfaces. I added a few items (to include the MG turret) but its pretty much out of the box.
Still debating on a paint scheme. I was considering a tri tone of Black, RAL 7028 DG I, and RAL 6011 B.

I only have two kits from Bronco, but they are incredibly detailed. The downside of that is they are time consuming to assemble.
Based on the complexity of this kit compared to its size, I imagine that a Tamiya version would only require one or two sprues!
