Looks real sweet Martin. You have done a great job on something so small.

Hi Gaz,
I'm about to start my campaign contribution, but I don't want to run afoul of the rules. I'd like to do the Italian aircraft carrier Aquila.
Mussolini's only aircraft carrier Aquila was nearing completion when Italy surrendered to the Allies on 8 September 1943. Germany then seized the ship and placed it under guard. Aquila was later damaged on 16 June 1944 during an Allied air attack, and on 19 April 1945 Italian "co-belligerent" government sent divers from the former Decima Flottiglia MAS, who partially scuttled Aquila to prevent the ship being used by the Germans.
I want to build the real ship as she would have appeared in service... will this work for the campaign?

That Wespe looks nothing short of perfect!

Tim,
Please feel free to build her! I have never seen anything of this ship and would like to see how she'd look built. Though not used effectively at times, Italian warships had some great lines.

Peter,
Very nice work with the PE, really adds the detail to the model.

Peter, well done. Impressive work. PE gives a completely different view of the model. Congratulations. I look forward to seeing him after painting.

Thanks guys. The PE adds quite a bit, and there is quite a bit to add. I did not use a lot though, partly because the set includes frets designed for the M16 and therefore parts are not used on this vehicle, and partly because some parts are just too small or too fragile - such as the gun sight supports. Way too many tiny parts just waiting to fall to bits during painting.
The ammo rack has rounds to go in it too. Forgot the pic of those.

Peter,
Looking forward to your take on OD.

It'll be a bit light in places and too dark in others for your taste Gaz - I'm doing Light Mud and Black

This pic is not quite right, the US pattern Jerry can should be a British WD pattern one as per these pics.
https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205204617https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205204722I think the interior on these was left OD - note the inside of the door on the second pic - so I'll be doing that and you will see my take..
I was considering 'Accorn Inn" originally
https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205204750But it has early pattern wheel rims, would need some scratch building for the ammo racks in front of the fuel tanks, and for stowage on top, and the front Jerrycan holders would need to be removed..
I'm debating if the platform step under the rear stowage bin on the left rear was specific to this vehicle or whether I should add it to my option.

Always the contrarian, Peter. I’m sure it’ll be a first class result.

Well, I am calling her done. This is Tamiya's Wespe "Italian Front". Overall a very enjoyable build. My first attempt at a vehicle with an interior. If I were to do it again I would have built her in the firing position so that the included crew could be added in the future. The model depicts a vehicle from the 29th Panzer Grenadier Division, Italy, 1944.
I am enjoying watching everyone's work. Thank you for hosting the campaign Gazza, see you at the next one.
Bryan

Bryan,
Congratulations on your completion! You've done an excellent job on the Wespe, especially the interior. It really looks lived in.
I agree, in firing position with crew would have been a great choice. A human presence brings armor to life, I reckon.

Hello everyone,
Peter (Petbat) has been suffering some internet problems lately, so when he brought his build for this campaign to our club meeting today I volunteered to post some in-progress shots for him.
I doubt my pictures will do his effort just as I'm still trying to come to grips with my phone's camera.
