That's really strange, I didn't have that problem with the swing arms on my panther. One thing I did do was, I reamed the holes out on the hull with a letter M drill in order to get the swing arms to move freely. I had to give a couple of the torsion bars a little wiggle to get them to seat, they were partially getting stuck on the inner framing parts T1 and T13.
That was my point I screwed up, I should have made sure that the Arms were close to the hull.

Well I didn't fall off the edge of the earth.
I've been very busy cleaning up the parts for the Track , Each Shoe has 4 parts, the Shoe, 2 Horns & the Pin with a total of 14 Burrs to remove. It didn't seem like I would ever get done, but I am they are assembled & ready for paint. I'm still trying to figure if I should use the Ice Cleats or not.
Well enough gab here are the Pics.
First make shure the Guide Horns are square.
Some of the holes for the Track Pins had some flash.
I held the shoes together & used a small drill to clean out the holes.

The Pins should slide right in.
I did the Track in sections of 10 be careful not to mix the track up as it is HANDED
Here's the finished Track
You get 2 runs of 86 6 sections of 2 for the rear hull & 2 extra sections of 4 maby for the Turret sides ?
I need a Vacation.

For cleaning the track pin holes. I use a Gas cutting torch tip cleaner. It is a long wire file in different sizes. It works on
metal tracks if you cut the tips of the files. just an idea!!!

A little more done.
The kit gives you both a Plastic and Metal Gun Barrels .
They are both the same size, the Pic. is off a little.
Working on the Gun now.

I have most of the Gun assembled , I have made thr Breach Block removable to ease the painting.
First off if you are using the Metal Gun Barrel remove the key from inside the inner part where the Shell is inserted , other wise it won't fit.
The Breach Block can be placed in either the Open or Closed position. Where you place it determins the position of the lever on the side of the block.

There's a locking mechanism on top the block if you slightly enlarge the holes during assembly of it , it can be made operable .

The Gun is painted and installed in the Turret Front.
First off the instructions as pictured are misleading , you should insert the Gun Unit in the back of the Turret front Armor Plate, then install the box like part on the front of the Gun Unit. If you install the box first you cant get the Gun through the Turret front.
Insert the Gun Sight from the front into the Gun Unit then fit the mantlet cover of your choice , they give you 2 to choose from.
I used liquid glue as shown.

That’s a mighty slick breech/mantlet assembly Donald, and ace photography to match. May I suggest a gentle super-fine sand of the muzzle to smooth out those chunkier specks? Fascinating build

Actually that was the effect I was looking fore. The pic. is a super close up to show the texture. To the eye it doesn't look like there's hardly any texture at all.

Here's how I did the periscoes.
First cleaned the parts and used some Bare Metal Foil on the backs from the lenses, then cut to fit small oblong pieces of masking left over from another kit. Glued the parts back to the Sprue at the mounting lip. then painted them flat black.
I'll remove the masking after they are installed.
The inside of the turret has been painted.
All finished for today.

Donald, you have the pot antenna installed on the very rear deck, this was only used on befehlspanthers. If you are building one, you also need to cover the hole for the coaxial mg in the mantlet. Because of the extra equipment carried in the turret, command panthers didn't have the mg in that location. A welded plug was put there. In pics I have seen, thhe plug was conical in shape.

Thanks Mike, I was going to do the command panther but with the new info. I think I'll make it a regular Gun Tank. I allready removed the Antenna Pot.
