Dutik. Really coming along nicely. The weathering is really bringing out the best in this kit.

Made a tentative start on my sIG-33 by putting paint on some of the parts on the tree. It's a lot easier to paint while there is something to hang onto, especially when the parts can get quite small. Not enough for pictures yet.

Base coat applied to the Hummel. Now I need to practice the stripe camouflage on some sheet plastic

Great work, everybody! I guess I'm going to have to get started on my contribution before too much longer! I've got it narrowed down to either the Meng or RoG Panzerhaubitze 2000s or maybe the RoG M109A6...or maybe the Trumpy 2S1.

Okay some paint down on the BL 7.2 inch. Not overly happy with the wave pattern on the barrel so may have to do that again.

Here is my entry, Trumpeter 152mm Type83 self-propelled gun howitzer.

dutik, based on your "dare" below, and a 30% off deal from Squadron, I went and bought the Trumpeter Kondensator kit, which just arrived. Checking the instructions, this is a massive build which I will not be attempting as part of this campaign. I just hope something appropriate comes along.

I owned the Soar Art Dora, but had to sell it when I downsized. That kit requires its own garage.

The 10.5cm Kanone 18 is coming together. I have some putty work to do before I prime. All together a very nicely engineered kit from Dragon's golden age.


I have decided to go with an early DAK scheme, so RAL 8000 over German gray.

Instructions began with the "truck/carriage base."

Nice work everybody.
Little update from me, as rules call for some WIP photos.
Fk39 (r) is almost ready, all parts in place and base green painted.


I spent lot of time on the Bishop. One of most demanding models I ever built.

And interior ready for painting...

Yellow stuff you can see on some of the edges is hair spray mixed with water color, as a masking solution.
When paint is dry it's easy to wash it off with some water and toothpick.

And you have a nice clean edge easy to glue later.
Then, I decided to experiment a little...
I sprayed hair spray over some plastic jar, left it to dry and then sprayed one cote of silver followed by the cote of gun metal paint.

After leaving paint to dry for few hours, I poured little water on it, washed it off and collected particles of dry paint into a bottle dope, smashed it in small pieces with stiff brush, collected water and replaced it with floor polish. Then I applied that mixture with brush. Result - easy and fast chipping solution.

The reason I painted two different paint coats is that I got two different colours of chipping, depending on what side is up...
It's not perfect but I think it's good enough for hardly visible interiors. And, since I have this mixture now safely stored in paint jar, I can use it fast when needed. Hope somebody find this useful...
I am here at the moment, with ammo painted and on place...

I have finished primary construction and painting of the M109A7, as well as the base. I will start weathering and pin washing tonight, but that will be kept to a minimum.

Love to see all the great builds in this campaign!

Excellent work guys. Nice selection of builds - especially Bogi building so many different kits, and scratch building skirts to boot.

I have the Bishop and limber combo in the stash. I take it out and then out it back...

Small update on my ML-20. I glued the last pieces for this kit and was finally able to make the upper shield support into an "L" bar. Not the best looking finish (right side is shorter) but I'll have to go with this.



Time for primer application!

Small update from Port Arthur:



Building up the base. There is a small trench arund the base plate for the traverse gear. So I build a frame for the diorama from sheet styrene, carved a "beton pedestal" from cork sheet for the guns base plate , build up the small trench using strip styrene and filled the surroundings with more cork sheet. One more sheet and I am up and level. It takes some time to cure for the white glue after every sheet, so working pace is slow at the moment. But you get the idea.
