Nice. Alot of action in the campaign today.
David, it's nice to see you making some progress.
Kalin, nice finish.
Rory, looking good.
i like the Vomag versions better then the Alkett. More sleek.
Myself, i haven't worked on my Hetzer at all. I was messing with some figures, trying to paint some faces. I kind of want a commander for the It for the finish.
I am also Practicing with pigments on some test pieces.

Thank you gentlemen for your kind feedback.
Rory, while watching your work on Jagdpantzer IV L/70, I ask myself:
Where is the logic of using gloss? Decals or metallic effect?
Great job, Gary. I'm starting to regret not buying the model before long.
Marc, I use oils on the faces of my figures. A figure will enhance the effect of your work.

Hi Marc,
yes I'm chipping away at the jagdtiger when I can, had to take the wife out to the cinema on Sunday to see the film "Military wives" it wasn't a bad little film to watch but alas no modelling was done

Decals and then washes and weathering. Dull coats will come later.

Hi everyone,
Final photos time. I can echo Rory's use of gloss paint as it affords you more control of both oils and pigments. In my case here, I tried out something I read in a weathering book which made my paint really matte. So matte, that even when gloss coated, there was too much capillary action making effects spread farther than intended.
Thanks to David for running the campaign.
Thanks for looking!
Happy modelling!

Nice job there Gary, very impressive, its a model that slips under the radar but you have brought it out into the open.
Nice choice with the SU-122 Robert, looking forward to seeing that get started.
It seems along with everyone I am still having the same issues with the forum latest posts and not seeing it still. I also cant upload any pics of the Jagdtiger which is a pain.
At the moment, I have done the red primer coat with a tamiya hull red with some XF60 dark yellow. It is looking ok to my eye and the primer red has a decent not new look to it, so next will be a 3 tone camo, then the precise painting of tools, scuff marks, metal wearing parts etc and also a figure to give it some scale.
Once I can get the pics issue with the site sorted, I will get them uploaded.

Now the site seems like it's getting back to normal ... The pics as promised.
Side view, with red oxide primer. It came quite well, well for me it did lol, anyhows, I'm happy with it. I didn't want it to fresh, more a bit dull and faded with a few patchy areas and any problem areas I will hide with the cam.
Slight front aspect. Will start on the 3 tone tomorrow, then do the tracks and fit them along with wheel stations, weather all that then mask it away and fine paint the tools, chipping, and weather the top.

Thank you, John.
Your Jagdtiger is coming along nicely. I like that shade of red-brown. Can’t wait to see the colours come together.

Wow Gaz that's some amazing work you've done there, it looks so realistic and to think I never thought anyone would 've interested in a tank destroyers campaign. well since there has been such an overwhelming influx of people taking part, I shall run another one next year!

Looking great John. I have to agree with Gaz, the red-brown is a good shade.

Been busy with some other projects, but here I am with my entry. I don't plan on over-detailing the interior as I have a set of Stug crew loading ammo that I plan to do later on and pair it all with a SdKfz 252 kit. The figures will obscure the openings enough to hide what Dragon left out and I want the focus on the outside, anyway.

M10 progressing slowly. Tracks now on and upper hull almost complete
The turret has simply been taped together at the present time as it is easier to install the ammo storage, shells etc prepainted and then attach the 2 halves, but I wanted to see how much of the lower hull interior would be visible. Bearing in mind that gun breech is at an angle, and will obscure even more when actually installed the answer would appear to be not a lot.
incidentally John the Jagdtiger in the background is the donor of your tracks. It is glossed up for weathering. It can't be that often that one kit provides parts for 2 separate builds from different builders in the one thread.

Peter,
People on the rest of the world might not have grown up with the same nursery rhymes.
Shell,
Nice, Clean construction! I love the StuG... But the interior might as well be invisible for what you can see through the hatches.
John,
Looking solid!

Yes, I suppose possibly some have not heard it Gaz, but it is a song and it has been in movies and has been sung by some well known singers around the world:
Peggy Lee and Andy Williams - American
Cilla Black - English
even Delta Goodrem here, so possibly many will.
..and it is taught in many Kindergartens around the world. As it is a song and does not rhyme, it can be sung in any language. My Italian friend, our Ex- Exchange student, sang it in Italian for my youngest over 10 years ago!
I am sure anyone interested could Google it. Like modelling, it is all about research!!
Cheers Mate.

Damn it .... Ok....
..... " Purple and orange and blue .. I had to be the one lol .. I think all our generation sang it didn't we ?
Shell, the Stug is looking good so far, a dependable little beast...
Norman, the M10 holds up well... I'm thinking of getting one next after a Chally 1 and Striker.
I did notice the old Jagdtiger lurking in the background.. looks nice with the tank riders. I am in the process of painting and filtering the tracks you donated, and indeed it was a quirk that we are both in this campaign and one model helps another one...
