Peter and Gary, thanks for the interior discussion. Great pictures I did not have. It will help when I get around to building my Emil at some point.

Marc, beautiful work on the very unique Hetzer camouflage. Great job!

First update: Main hull and suspension is put together. There isn't actually a lot to this kit so went together fast. Fit was good so only some minor sink marks had to be filled.

Tobar,
Hate to bear the bad news, but this campaign is about dedicated tank killers and not tanks/ panzers

Hello all,
Just joined the Campaign; will post my opening day photo later this afternoon.
I am going to be building the Meng version of the Jagdpanther G1 from kit TS-039. Has anyone built this kit? I see we have one that is already being built by Johannan (Sinsling), but was hoping someone already has this on a shelf and might provide a few tips or things to watch out for? I am building one from heavy 559 PzJagd battalion during the Ardennes campaign if that helps.

Cheers,
Rick Cooper

Firstly, there are some great kits coming together on this campaign so well done guys and I can't wait to see the finished wagons

So, the Jagdtiger is primed, I will paint the tracks ( kindly donated by Norman) , highlight some panel lines then do the lower hull and running gear, then mask that off before I start the upper hull cam.

After my initial reservations about this old DML kit, it didn't turn out to bad. It definitely needs PE and different tracks from what's supplied, but all in all it went together pretty well.

hi Guys and Gal,

Well the honeymoon is over, the bags are unpacked, a mountain of washing has been done and thanks to the wonderful weather in Scotland, my tan has just about disappeared!.

so i have finally managed to crack this kit open that i got for Christmas... that feels like a lifetime ago. I have now finished the first three stages, including assembling all of the wheels... which was a little tedious i can tell you but i did use a few gin and tonics to help me though the process :-)

You got back to UK at the perfect time to soak up this fantastic weather we are all getting lol... Hope the honeymoon went well, we have been cracking on at the coal face with our destroyers.
My JTiger has been primed above and going to start on the cam soon...

Hi John,

I can see you and everyone else has been hard at it while I've been away, so I've some catching up to do.
I'm going to have a crack at those link and length tracks that come with the kit...if it all goes wrong then still have the rubber band tracks as a get out of jail option.

Current progress.
Glosscoat, decals and washes done. Clear flat spray done. I used a Vallejo European dust wash for a filter and further pin washes. Oils for a little dry brushing

I stlill need to add highlights to tracks . I want to add pigments but need to take it slow so i don't overkill it.

Gotta say that is one great looking hetzer. The masking work for that camo would be a bit too much for me, so I'm going with something different. Anyways after putting off work for other campaign builds, started working on it again. Here's where I'm at with my hetzer:

Hoping to finish up today.

Marc,
Your Hetzer looks awesome!

Here is my current status with Sturer Emil. I've recently done some oil work. Streaking and dusting. Next up will be pigments.

There was a decal for the victory rings on the barrel. But it was too small for the metal barrel. Speaking of the metal barrel, it is quite heavy and has a brass muzzle brake. The original glue joints of the trunnions failed and I had to dump glue into the joint and hope that it'll survive when I glue the barrel on for good.

looking good Gary.
i assume you did the oil dot method?
and if you did, it looks like you used more lighter colors?
I tried it on some evergreen plastic pieces that i sprayed a german 3 color camouflage pattern to and sealed with clear flat.
i originally made them to test filters, and then tried the oil dot method. that and an old panther superstructure. i didn"t really like the turn out, but i am not experienced enough at the technique.

Marc,
Thank you. I did use the dot method but I used black, brown, yellow ochre, and white. I'm still learning the technique myself and am not completely happy with the results. So, I'll play with it some more.

Really nice work coming together here. Lots of great builds. Nice seeing different takes on the same vehicle too.

Love the camo work Marc. Glad to see you taking time on it, as it really is one I'd hate to overdo too if it were mine.

Gaz, the beast is looking great. I have been dubious about using white in my weathering, when doing a grey vehicle, but it seems to have worked well with the shade of grey that you have used (please leave the jokes on that alone...).

It's coming together nicely so far David, glad you didn't have the issues with your track like I did. I still think it was down to mine being the very old DML kit, but it's not looking that bad now.

I won't be finishing mine as a specific vehicle to a unit, just how I feel like doing it, so the paint may be a little off in how some people may think they were meant to be finished, but the joy of artistic measure lol.

Hi there! I'm done with my project in the campaign.
Here are the final photos.

I hope you found it interesting. It was a pleasure for me. At the earliest opportunity, I will get involved with the second model.
Good luck and have fun.
