That's a lovely little build, Tim! So you'll be the first of us here to finish this campaign! Will you also use the unit marking from the sheet for the hood? Though I doubt that the 1./PzGrenBtl 32 ever had a Beetle in its inventory. But who wants knows that?

Some very nice works so far. I finally made my choice for this campaign. It will be the Meng Panzerhaubitze 2000 with add-on armor.
I'm still involved in 2 other campaigns I need to complete before I can start this one but it should not last too long.

Thanks guys! The car won't be sporting the "house" (tactical?) unit marking on the hood, but it wouldn't be seen anyway...

I thought it would be fun to show the little bug in a winter environment.

After gluing the completed car to the plastic base, I began applying a slurry of baking soda with lots of water and a little PVA (white glue).


Besides looking good, the “snow” offered the opportunity to obscure some of the features that would reveal that this Bundeswehr vehicle from the 1960s is actually a 1943 Käfer!


The most obvious giveaways are the small split rear windows and very small rear signal mounts on the fenders, both of which had been redesigned on VWs by the mid-1960s.


Under a heavy coat of snow, these problems just disappear!

New ring mount. Revell MG 3 replaced by an MG 42/59 Trumpeter with just the buttstock removed




Turret hatch and weapon ring mount in one part.


I keep just the hatch and rebuilt the ring mount.

Thank you Peter. Yes there is a good view of the interior through the windscreen and windows of the doors rebuilt in styrene. Not possible with original doors who have windows closed by shutters.
I plan to add a soldier in the turret too.

Yep, I am going with the last tankette class tank in Western Europe, the old AFV Weisel AWC carrier, mine even has the Djiti aftermarket resin tracks:

Nice little kit ! The vehicle was used in Afghanistan and several pics show a very dusty running gear.

So here is the latest, the Djiti tracks were difficult as there are NO instructions and nothing is marked. So a ton of test fit and trim went into these guys, but here we are, along with a few size comparisons






Note it’s not even as long as the IDF M51 barrel!

The resin set really improves the model. Very nice.

Good start on the Wiesel. The plastic color is quite odd for a AFV Club model. Never seen this one before.
If I remember well the photoetched parts which come with the box are a dog to bend. AFV Club used a steel like metal instead of the usual brass which does not respond well to multiple trials.

It was hard to definite the shape of the front shutters.


New rear side shutters.




I decided to rebuilt the storage platform, because the Revell one is ugly.



Improved hydrojets brackets and resized antenna support, the Revell one was removed because too short.

The Weisel is looking good Bruce. That white styrene is unusual and it threw me the first time I saw it in a kit a few years back. The tracks make a big difference.

Excellent detail work on the Fuchs Alex. Love to see extra work like this. Did you need to make a prop blade too?

Peter, thank you. Yes because there is a molding issue on one propeller blade with a big hole. It was easily repaired.

But this missing part was difficult to build. I have used thin styrene (0,13 mm) and wire.
