Looking great Ryan.

30 years ago, Peter ....
And it's not Olive Green but Yellow Olive RAL 6014, the old Bundeswehr paint before the NATO 3-tone-camo. We even had one or two older MAN 5 to gl in our TrspGrp still painted in RAL 6014 on the outside. My Y-276245 came fresh from the depot and was already painted in the new NATO camo on the outside but I can't remember the inside tone. I did RAL 6014 on my model last year ....

Yes, Peter I plan to follow Torsten’s advice. His information has been great to this point. I plan to use Tamiya NATO Green as that is what I have on hand and I don’t think I have a Vallejo option.
I agree, let’s not talk about how long ago our youth was.
Thanks again Torsten.

Thanks for the compliment, Ryan. Don't make me blush .... Vallejo equivalent would be 71250 Bronce Green RAL 6031.
I would say it's some kind of green underneath ....

.... Also was the cargo bed area repainted white to match the exterior on the UN scheme or was it left green?

Anybody know a good interior color for the cabin walls? Also was the cargo bed area repainted white to match the exterior on the UN scheme or was it left green?
Personally I would say they would not paint the inside of the cargo bed. It would all end up getting scraped up transferring cargo in and out.

Moving along to the fenders, the supports are pretty bulky looking
Some PE bits and lots of bolts
Easier than I thought it would be but time consuming. Shaving off plastic, filling, sanding. Resin bolts felt kind of small, and trying to set everything perfectly and using CA glue was not something I wanted to try. Made bolts out of styrene rod. Used some Mr. Surfacer brushed on to PE parts, hit it with a dab of Testor's liquid cement and then hand placed each bolt. Then I just hit it again with some brushed on Mr. Surfacer to seal them in.
Well that's one side done.

Looks good Comrade. Another option for attaching to PE is wood varnish. a dab on the back of the bolt lets you move it around and a whisk with a moistened brush can remove any excess.

Can 6031 be used on German Leopard 1’s or would that be different green?

Ryan, what time period will your Leopard 1 be in? Before 1980 or after? Most Leo 1 have had their times already by the early 1980's, when the Leopard 2 was introduced in 1979. They were all painted in Gelboliv RAL 6014 from the beginning, only when they came to depot maintenance after 1980 they got the new NATO 3-tone camo with Bronzegrün RAL 6031. So it's up to you ....

Hadn’t given it much thought, trying to understand my paint purchases. I will need Vallejo 71.250 for my German Leopard 2 campaign build and not Tamiya NATO Green correct? Would Vallejo 71.016 work for the earlier German Green?

Thanks Peter! It was my 2nd ever built Leo so I made a few mistakes but it still looks fine to me and has seen some expos so far. The antennas are from the kit and look like tree branches compared to the brass made AM antennas I use now ....
Ryan, I don't know about Tamiyas NATO Green because I don't use it but with Vallejo 71250 you'll be right. Concerning Yellow Olive I would say that Vallejo 71016 is close enough. I just googled (would you say that?) for Vallejo RAL 6014 and this is one result:
https://www.rakuten.de/produkt/vallejo-airbrush-farbe-model-air-vallejo-71016-verde-usa-us-dark-green-ral6014-2375901170
Personally I always use Revell Aqua No. 42 Gelboliv for that, but I don't think you'll get it in the US easily. I painted the above Leo 1 with that colour.

I would have said broom handles...
I used to use the suggested stretched sprue way back .... eeerrghhhhhhh, what were we thinking?.....

Comrade that's some serious detailing on that fender! BTW the three rectangular hatches in the top of the engine deck are meant to be rolled plate rather than cast, so you may want to scrape down the bobbly "cast" texture on them before you add too much delicate detail to the hull!

Thanks again. I ordered 71.250 and I already had 71.016 on hand. I will try to finish the rest of the chassis while I wait on the paint to arrive.

I did some progress on my PzH 2000. I replaced the poor piece of thread provided in the kit by a metal cable from the spare box. I also had to "unglue" the leftmost hook on the rear plate as Meng asks you to put it with the opening facing upward while it faces downward.
Here are some pictures.

Looks great Olivier. Thanks for the tip on the hook.
Just finishing up a couple of other builds before I get back to mine.

I have made some progress pretty quicker than expected. Peter, I found two other "mistakes" in the instructions. First Meng omitted part D28 whereas you can see it on the drawings, second Meng mislabelled part G19 as E16 which also exists. This part should not be used for a German vehicle which is not mentioned by Meng.
It is nearly ready for the paint booth. The add-on armor blocks will be painted separately before being glued on.
Here are more pics.

Thanks Olivier. Looks fantastic. The join on your barrel sleeve joint looks much better than mine which needed a hairline of filler and a couple of shallow sink marks dealt with.

Almost every day, I'm reminded that I enlisted in this campaign and already have the AM figures required for an early Bundeswehr build.
So I'll be building this Takom M47. I've also got some Dolp Zinnafiguren- metal figures - in early Bundeswehr uniform.

Good to see your start pic Gaz.
Olivier, I checked my instructions and part G19 is called out correctly, as a Dutch part, in the earlier kit. Part D28 that fits in the hole/divot behind the right headlight was not called out though, but is in the instruction diagram as fitted, just like you said. At least the hole in the hull would make most modellers curious enough to maybe pick it up...
Thanks again for the heads up.

Nice progress here, guys. I haven't started my build yet as I'm still working on my Leo 2A4GR for the Leopard Campaign. Just found a nice video on Youtube which might give us some ideas of our ground forces.
