We've had the go ahead for the Normandy campaign so Go! Go Go! Dust off the Churchills etc and get building! :-) . Start dates August 1st but as WIP is allowed there's nothing to stop you starting early!

Hi all.

I'm more focused on modern armor, but I have Italeri's Commando Car and DML 2nd SAS Regiment to build. So my question is: can I use this kits in this campaign?

Tomek, not a problem. "Bullbasket" was an SAS op in France in June 44 using jeeps. Dropped in in late June as I believe but I may be wrong, just to cause havoc behind the lines. Welcome on board!

Just spent ages trying to upload the ribbon but no joy! . There ought to be an idiot guide for folks like me :-) . It's going to be the France & Germany Star for the campaign rather than a made up ribbon. Splitting my time at the mo between my BEF dio for the Purple Hearts campaign and this one. I'm going for Guards Armoured in Normandy with accompanying infantry passing German POW's.How about everyone else?

This campaign is a godsend to me! I have a Normandy WIP - a diorama showing a Churchill and crew being welcomed to a French farmyard. I've painted the building and most of the figures, but still have the Churchill and a Bren carrier to build. This will be the incentive to get one with it!

OK Karl, I'm in, but I have one more question. What WIP stands for?

Work In Progress

I'll join the campaing if there is Cromwell or Firefly Vc in LHS. I could build them in marking of 1st Polish Armoured Division.

I'm in, if you don't mind my killing the Queens English. :-)

I have a Firefly just sitting around and thought this would be a good time to open it up. Also have some Firefly Normandy Decals coming in from Biscon Decals that should work. Just have to do a little research about putting it in a diorama setting.

CMon Al................I am sure that as one who produces very nice models from the Normandy campaign, you must have something small that you can put forward. In the words of Father Teds Housekeeper, ' CMon,CMon,CMon,CMon,CMon,CMon,CMon'................

Al, it's running till the end of Feb next year. The start date is officially 01/08 but thats just a hypothetical start date as WIP goes. You've got to have a start and end for paper or rather the screen :-) . Welcome to all those just joined. Be nice to see some Polish stuff for a change! Nice one! Ian, why not do both. I've got a pile of Commando Bergans I bought from Accurate Armour so I'm toying with the idea of doing some Commandoes after the Guards dio...lol

Okay,

I've enlisted in my first campaign. I've got a RMASG Centaur in progress, now, the problem I have is that my camera is a crock of...... (you get he drift) can anyone help with advice with an OlympusC_450 as I don't seem to be able to get the Macro to work with any degree of finess, PM would probably be best as my last camera was some Russian thing made with bits left over from a T55 :-)

Cheers

I've signed up, I might build a Polish Firefly
Martin go to the Imperial War Museum archive and click on the photo archive. Type in Normandy, About seven pages in, after all the ships and planes are the infantry, tank and artillery photos.
