Good god the price of that griffon set is total madness, are they using gold etch? Its a shame, to me that one looks the nicest! Have to wait and see how much the griffon set is from lucky model, I suspect it may be cheaper.

I have put out feeler to see if Dragon would like to show their effort here but I'm not holding my breath. I wonder though if a company with as great casting abilities as Dragon and Tamiya put their minds to it if they could produce slat in styrene?

Dear All
Just receive the news from Pam
Here is the comment from Dirk:
Here are the temporarily data of our new Slat Armor set for the M1126
Stryker:
The set contains 8 PE frets (more than 600 PE parts) and about 80 resin
parts.
The Spaced armor Plates and all square bars for the Slat Armor panels, as
for the supports, are made out of resin to keep the set buildable, even for
the average modeler.
Furthermore the set will contain, apart of the Spaced Armor Plates and Slat
Armor, the following items:
- Raised supports for headlights (Resin)
- Resin deflector with only the mesh made out of PE,
- Canvas cover for drivers hatch (Resin),
- Smoke Grenade Launchers with canvas cover (Resin),
- Waste ammo basket for RWS (Resin),
- Towing Bar (Resin).
There will be no instruction sheet, but the set will come with a CD-ROM
containing a Step-by-Step build using pictures, and of course all
detailshots of the finished model as a guide.
Prize for the complete set will be approximately 95 euro, and will be
available in March.
Together with the introduction of the Slat armor-set, a separately set of
resin realistic sagged tyres for Stryker (Michelin) will be available. Price 17 euro
For the kit itself ask Hugo his comments
Best regards,
Dirk Vangeel

A free standing PE kit with out connectors.
It seems that a back plastic film with glue hold the pieces together
Miroslav and Others Slat manufactures, this will be a great help for Slat kit no ??

Sorry about both those issues. Tried to link to Perth New Kit News but I guess I can't thanks Seb.
And Robert the only Stryker MGS I've ever seen didn't have slat but then I haven't seen many photos of this vehicle either, sorry about the non slat alert, it was wishful thinking.

Thank you Frenchy that's a beauty isn't it? Weren't there some pictures around when these were first brought to the middle east "without" slat armor? I remember them at a firing range probably in Saudi or Kuwait prior to deployment?
This is yet another Stryker that requires the slat construction, more detail PE and another book or two to get up to speed on this vehicle.
Again, hats off to you Frenchy for sourcing this image for me.
Best

Thomas.
very good photos, I as well wait Voyager Slat for comparison. I look first big error. Additional armor is the same thickness as original armor for Stryker. Here is photo for comparison. Next small error is missing detail on lower console ( photo). Next part is look good only instruction is small confused.

Thomas
OK but on photo is armor plate 3.6 x thickness until additional armor and Voyager only 2.5 x.
In kit is armor 0.8mm. I kow that this is small detail but Voyager armor is not realistic look.
