This thread will be used for my Stryker project. At the moment the soon to be released Big Ed set will be used unless something better comes along and the price is right.

Thank you for your answer, but I was looking for some sort of conclusion, is there any of the etch sets for the Stryker, which are better than the others?
So far we have seen slat armour sets from Eduard, Yoyager and Griffon Model. Is anybody able to point out, which manufacturer is the best vis a vis accuracy?
In one of the earlier postings, it is mentioned the actual slats in the Eduard set are too narrow for instance, and that the the Yoyager additional armour plate thickness is too thin. This is important information, so I wonder if any other has had a chance to compare the various brands currently on offer?
Regards Thomas

Hi Seb,
I don`t understand this drawing. When wheels has ben without bulge, rear wheels are a small and front big?
I think that all wheels have the same dimension but rear suspension must have next position.

Hi,
I think the same as Milo, wheels have the same size, suspension work mouvements are giving the the "nose up" effect.
I make this on my WIP Stryker, its a better and cheaper choice :-)

Guys here is a teaser of the up coming "In Box" review and build article for Real Models M1127 RV with Slat, Blast Panels, and RHINO. Let me tell you guys, with all of Milo's in progress pics he has posted of all his stuff, they don't do him justice unless you see the stuff for your self in your hands! And this is just the photo etch you get in the kit!
I am taking the family to Fiesta Texas here in a little while, but when I get back tonight, I will get started in the write up and try to have it done and sent to the staff by tomorrow night.

Well Guys
The purpose of this post is to gather the information and let you judge what will be the best kit for you depending on your skills and cash flow. I will not and I am not running for any AM manufacturers, let the people decide based on this fair post and the addition from the community.
@ Milo & Pascal, it seems that the wheels are sagged to give such effect here is a pictures from PAM website,
I can ask directly Dirk and Hugo.
@ Pete thanks for putting the pictures here, much appreciate
Cheers
Seb

Somewhat OT, but the suspension is kind of adjustable. A properly functioning suspension shouldn't get too tail-heavy I believe. Here's a LAV-III that 'fell down' after losing some nitrogen out of the system. It was sitting around for quite some time. Having said that, maybe the slat package is heavy enough to overload the system.

Hello All,
With the CTIS (Central Tire Inflation System) in conjunction with the HMS (height management system) working you shouldn't have the back end sagging because you can adjust the HMS by bleeding or adding nitrogen to the shocks and inflating deflating the CTIS.

When equipped with slat the inflation sistem is disconnected to avoid it to break down, because it automaticaly adjust the pression when the Stryker is off road, deflating the tires, but the sistem is unable of inflate the tires when is on road because of the slat weight. This could cause sistem malfunction and increase the tire damage and fuel needed by the vehicles.

I see Dragon has taken their Stryker off the list of things up coming.

Not surprised.

Wow. That's a bummer, Bill. I wonder if they've decided to cut their losses permanently or if they just want to bide their time a bit before releasing it. I know a few folks on Armorama helped Dragon with the research for its Stryker, so it would be a sad thing for their efforts to go to waste.

Yes
This was "an opportunity" for Dragon. They saw what was out there and as excellent as it is there was still no interior and no injection slat which I think Dragon could have done. But perhaps they will focus their energy on other modern projects, the list is long. I might say that the Stryker market is about as saturated as it could be and that is a good thing for modellers.

I second Boggie. The amount of stuff that's been released for the Stryker is in short, WOW.
For a kit this young, the number of AM available is mind boggling. So much to choose from.
Another one by DML is pointless imho.

A lot is out there, but we could sure use some interior sets.
I just received my PAM Slat set from RJ Enterprises. VERY Impressive and the CD is a nice touch.
Now it's time to work on this beast.

the sag from front to rear or vice versa in miloslavs pics are the beginnings of a HMS failure, the HMS allows the stryker to adjust height to be loaded into aircraft and then when on ground they nominalize the ride height and continue their mission.

I wish I had pics, but I can tell you from doing joint missions with Strykers, they all sag in the back. When they move out from a standing start it looks like they're trying to pop a wheeley!
