Here is the official thread for The True North Strong and Free Campaign.
The True North Strong and Free Campaign is a group build of Canadian Forces equipment, including tanks, aircraft, ships and infantry from the First World War to the war in Afghanistan. The proposed start date is December 26, 2009 until Canada Day, July 1st, 2010. I last submitted it on October 17th, so hopefully it will be accepted!
Dioramas are welcome as well! If you want to join, just post here or, when it's accepted, enlist on the campaign page. When you finish the campaign you will be awarded this ribbon:.
Have fun, and I'll see you on Dec. 26th!

Hi James,
The build has been a long one, I did put it away until I gathered enough reference to convert it to a Canadian version. Now I'm trying to decide whether to scratch build the slat armour or not. And I guess its time to dig it out again. I'll have to add the belly armour and the upper hull nose armour. I will take photos and post as much as I can with it!
Cheers Chris

Id like to get involved. I have all the bits to build a C1 Mexas so perhaps this is the chance to finally get it all out of the stash!

Here's a question, if I build a Canadian M-578 recovery vehicle, can it also be entered in the proposed army engineering campaign?

Not sure what I'll build. Thinking Husky ARV from the BVM kit, an UNMEE Coyote, an M5A1 Late, or a 40mm Bofors! Great days to be a modeller of Canuck AFV's eh!

Certainly, if you want to enter any model feel free to enter it, as long as it is not finished before the start date.

Tough choice! I'm going to build the Dragon Firefly Vc, and I'm debating whether or not to give it a diorama with Dragon's Commonwealth Troops. If I have time, I'll also build Academy's Nieuport 17 and give it Billy Bishop's markings.

Oh it will be fun, I just have to figure out a subject. I will probably do a destroyer or a frigate. I just have to decide what era I want to go for. I don't have a Canadian warship yet but I have been thinking about adding one for some time. This campaign gives me the excuse I needed to do a little bit research and pick something out.
A modern Canadian frigate will go nicely with my British destroyer and US frigate since we seem to cooperate rather well in the north Atlantic.
