Moving on, the chassis,
The completed lower framework, fuel tank and wire wheels. The wheels are from the excellent Resicast Rolls Royce Armoured Car wheels. They scale out, according to my plans at 1mm in dia,. too small but what the heck. The engine is adapted from a spare box find. It should be barely visible when the vehicle is finished.
Next, more engine details, drive shaft and axels.
regards

Alan, those Chevrolet trucks turned out to be very nice. I especially liked their busy look with all those stowage.
Mecanix, I really admire your skills. It looks well done even at this stage. One question though; aren't those axles are a little too low?

sorry for not piping up earlier have been busy at work and with the urban warfare campaign. (think i bit of to much with that one.) but there is some great work going on like the scratch build mechanix.
i have decide to do US 2.5 ton cargo truck have built it over the past week and is now in primer. and planning on doing a tilt for it but have never tried b4 so hope it works out
it looks a bit wonky but the cab and carco bed are still not fixed to aid painting.

Hi all!
I want to contribute with yet antoher model to this campaign.
This is Italeri's Willys Jeep - you might be familiar with it - converted to a basic SAS Jeep.
I used to backplate from Italeri's Coomand Car set, and skipped the windscreen, tools, backseat, spare tyre and jerry can on the back, together with lights and mirror.
Wether I am going to use this in a dio in the future I don't know, but now I have the basic SAS Jeep and I can add Vickers twin-mg's or a 50 cal mg on the front.
Yes, I know that the condenser is missing...
Anyway: I hope you enjoy this little thing.
Two pictures of the jeep, without chipping:
And with the final chipping:
Cheers!

everybody - first off apologies for not having been around since I finished my GAZ-AA. Too many campaigns and occasionally having to deal with RL...you know how it is.
I have to say, some impressive entries!
As you might remember, the GAZ was my first model since returning to the hobby. Well, I've built a few kits since - you may have seen some of them entered in other campaigns.
There is one other soft-skin I've nearly finished and I hope you're interested in seeing some pictures. It's a Zvezda/Italeri ZIS-5V with some Eduard PE, Armo resin tyres, hood made of foil and replaced windows. I did a bit of detailing on the engine and the cab interior. To get a used look for the wooden parts I used the salt technique (for the first time) and hairspray for the white-wash (also a first for me)
Hope you like it:
And a link to the rest of the album:

As always, comments welcome!
cheers,
Dierk

Wow, good trucks and jeeps coming up. Very good job people!
Dierk, I love the worn and beaten look on that truck, very nice job!
David, your truck also looks good, but it seems the decals had a silvering problem. Not unusual if you used Tamiya decals.
Dani, it's the first time I've seen an Opel ambulance in that scale. It looks good though, not crude and wonky like some other Esci kits I have seen it that scale.
Nick, whose Jeep is that? Kind of looks like Italeri's, but I can't be sure.
Nice conversion Simon. Maybe a little more dust and sand on the jeep would look better?
Keep up the good work people.

hopefully with another couple of coats of lacquer and some weathering should sort it out. the citron is looking good to like the paint job.

If you can't pull it off with with lacquer and weathering, try touching up with the base colors around the decals.

Wow - I look away for a short time and loads of great work sneaks in! All the builds posted in the last few weeks are fine, but of course Mechanix takes the biscuit with his scary Scratch-Fu skills...
As for my 1:24 kubelwagen, it has sat untouched these past few weeks only to be brought out today for another bout of plastic surgery. I should get primer on the various assemblies by Monday (and get some pics...) but after that things get challenging. I'll be working away from home on a project for a few weeks and may not get enough time to finish all the painting etc by the deadline. Still, I can but try!

And here are the photos. Still need to wait for glue to dry, then wash it, before priming.
Oh, and I've restrained myself and only added jerrycan racks and brake lines from Evergreen...
Sadly, even in this large scale the door hinges are too small to make workable!

Some pics of my progress so far, it's the IBG Heavy telephone exchange van.
I didn't get the interior set so I'll improvise with some gear and boxes near the windows...

Been on a trip, so some thingsI did before and some since my return.
I am starting to make some of the smaller body parts, mudguards, instrument panels etc.
and some larger ones too.
Just tacked together to get and check the overall look and feel.please understand that things will be squared away on final assembly (hopefully).
Thank you all or your kind comments especially Tom!!
