got the desert camo on earlier this week:

this week i got the track links all cleaned up and ready for assembly, but i am already fed up with working with those tiny individual links...

I managed to get some decals on and a grunge wash applied today, but it was dark before i got to trying to take a picture, so that is all for now.

That's a nifty Panzer I, Vance! (And Anthony, I like that Mk III...)

As for me, I've been dithering too long over Tamiya's dog of a 251, and it's never going to make the 14th. The interior is poor, and the "suspension" (I use that term with caution!) is awful. I think it wasn't helped by a bit of mould-warpage in this 40-year-old kit... So, it doesn't look much at the moment, but I intend to throw a tarp over the top (to hide the innards) and close up those massively thick rear doors rather than add any detail. The Pak 40 on the otherhand was a doddle and has been patiently awaiting paint for a couple months now!

If an extension of a couple weeks is granted, the plan is to paint the 251 in peeling sand over grey as a grizzled veteran, and the Pak 40 as a new arrival in pristine grey. Jeremy?

mmmhh this one is gonna be a close call.
I still have a lot to work to do on the small Dingo (the wheel / suspension arms is killing me...) I'm not sure to make it on time.
I'll keep my sprues crossed for an extension on this one !!

still have some detail painting to do, as well as adding the tracks, machine guns, and muffler guards, but at least it is approaching presentable:

The markings are for a tank pictured in Agadabia that I found on page 50 of the book "Panzer in Nordafrika", which I picked up when I lived in Germany some years ago.

The "R3" markings were sourced from the Dragon Pz.1b kit, which has generic markings that just happened to be the exact right style. Unfortunately, the letters should be a bit taller, but I wasn't about to complain in this case - close enough!

Finished the Pz Kpfw III Ausf F, up-gunned and tropical DAK version.

Jeremy;

I posted the above in the Campaign gallery. This has been enjoyable, nice builds, good chats with the participants.

Hi,
There are some great Panzers coming along! How about some gun support?

I just started my build for this campaign - a 8.8cm FlaK 37, as used in the area of Tobruk.

Cheers

Keep at it guys, you have about two and a half weeks to finish your projects. I'll assess the situation during the final days

I still can't find the photos that you have listed above. They are not in the Campaign gallery, or anywhere else that I can find for that matter. If you are running across some type of issue that is preventing them from posting properly then let me know, and it's been a pleasure having you with us

I have been slowly working on my entry in to this campaign, Tamiya's 1/48 Greif. I have misplaced the USB cable for my camera, but I will post progress photos as soon as possible.

Considering the time of year it is and the fact that we have a good handful of builds still in progress, I will be unofficially extending this campaign based on everyone's progress come Dec 14 2011. Keep up the great work and let's see what we can accomplish by the official end date

Nice! Kubelwagen Roman.

Jeremy;
I solved the photo problem. Posted new photos in the Campaign Gallery, as follows:

Roman: You've got to love those sand tires

Ralph: Excellent, got them all and thanks
I have got to build that kit some day, they look great with the extra "water" cans on them.

Roman: nice Kubel. Is that 1/48th?

Ralph: congrats on your build and finish. Looks good.

I've managed some progress on my arch-nemisis, the 1/48th 222 from Tamiya. After a string of painting disasters and complications, I finally feel like I'm getting it under control. Also, I think this is about the 5th time the grenade screen has been separated from the turret.

Hi Zon,

If it's any consolation the grenade mesh on my 1/35 222 falls off if you stare at it for too long! I'm seriously considering a spot of soldering and blaming it on battle damage!

Of course mine falls off due to a poorly designed piece of photo-etch designed retrospectively to fit on a 1970's kit, as opposed to my questionable modelling skill!

That's a fun build, don't care much for the figure though. It would be nice if someone made some AM sand tires for it.

Keep posting your updates fellas, I'll get my own as soon as I find my camera's USB transfer cable.

I started CMKs VW Beetle a few (6+) months ago for the Ramke Brigade. Then, on a snap decision (literally overnight), we moved 200 miles. This weekend I found all the kits I had started for the December campaigns and most of their respective parts so I'm back in business. I'll get some pictures up as soon as it's practical.

Eoin: good to know I'm not suffering alone. I think the other one has come off 4 times. Not sure why it's on now to be honest. I agree on the engineering too. It couldn't be us!!

Daniel: nice Kubel. I've got the Africa version in the works. Crazy how small the thing is.
