If you really are keen on doing that specific subject you had described above, I'd suggest getting the headset from Scalelink, and combine it with one or both of the following:

Typing in individual searches on the various years of WW1 (1914,1915, etc.) on the site's search engine, one can actually find a good number of figures of the different nationalities.
