I've enlisted, but didn't make too much noise about what kit I'm going to bring to the party.

Here it is:

Picked it up on the cheap. First MiniArt kit (always wanted to try one) so should be fun. I like the two tone brown camo scheme on the box art, but one of the marking options is in 4BO green!

Those are kickin' little kits, but they are a bit over engineered for some people's liking. Lot's of little parts.

Interesting kit- I haven't built it but there are some problems I remember from reading reviews-there's a really helpful build article by Steve Zaloga here

Matt .... Welcome aboard, what a great choice, I wasn't aware of this kit so I'll be very interested in seeing it coming together.

the top one of those drawings actually never existed. It`s good for the What if campaign though.

After the post about the T34/Flak88, I did a bit of digging on the old interweb, I found that that particular T34 may be a more of a 'Might have been' no real evidence, but accounts of it being used so therefore, I would allow it if someone wanted to build it.
I dug this up to, mmmmmmmmmmmm not an 88 but same idea, so 88 on a T34 not to far fetched!

I think it was based on this photomontage found in a waffenarsenal volume. IIRC it is based on a `hear say story` (I think we call them myths) that a T-34 was modified to carry an 88 gun. This might be related to the myth of a T-34-85 being refitted with a Tiger 88 (dont know the kwk number).

this one was pulled from a battletanksnederland thread, but it circulated on several fora

Edit: in the same thread was the original photo used:

G'day guys !

This may be silly question, but can I enter a FW190d captured at the end of WWII and changed to US markings ?

There are a few famous Focke Wolf Dora's that were captured by US forces in May 1945, I'd love to build one for this campaign !

Tamiya 1/48 FW190D-9 if that's ok

Cheers

Hi, All!

Just signed up. This looks like it will be FUN and, from what's been posted already, muy interesting indeed!

This will be my first actual campaign and I'm hoping I'll get something done...

What'll it be? Decisions, decisions.... Beute beute beute of course!

How about this little thingee?

Oops! My bad! Just funnin'. Ok. I KNOW I 'm supposed to build something new for this - just thought I'd try to sneak by...! But at least this was real and beute - no what-ifs nor paper-Pzr! Ex French Renault UE with the 28cm wurframen added for flash. And there were actually at least some 24 or so of these sad things deployed around Normandy in 1944....

My REAL plan is to tackle this little beast I recently saw out on a web-search for 2cm flak applications:

There were a handful of these done on a couple of Luftwaffe fields in the low countries in later 1944. I'm thinking of using the 1/35 Tamiya Universal Carrier plus a Tristar Flak 38 late production and a little scratchwork along the way....

Leastwise I know what I should be working on after 01 09 2011 or there abouts!

Cheers!

Bob

Benjamin...... I've seen that photo-shop T34/88 before, its quite convincing! I read somewhere that 'Panzerbrigade Kurland' in the Kurland Pernisula used a T34 with a bored out 85mm to 88mm. This has also been reported as a T34 fitted with a 88 and turret components from a KO'ed Tiger1???? I guess we'll never know!!! I'm glad you posted the original picture up too, a great view of a BeutePanzer.
Paul P.......... Sorry Paul, but as Garry said this is a campaign for AFV, but your FW190 does sound awesome!
Bob ............ Welcome aboard, really like your Renault UE with the 28cm Wurframen, plus that Llyodd Carrier is a brilliant subject!

Here's a captured Russian version, being used by the Finns......

Ppawlak-- there's an FW190 campaign forming up on Aeroscale that your idea would fit perfectly. Actually, you'd probably have the only Allied one in the bunch. I think their backlog has them starting new campaigns after March though.

everybody - a goodie for my PzKpfw IV arrived yesterday - resin cupola from TAHK, looks very nice and you even get the option of opened and closed vision portals.
I think I might go for the F2 version:

Don't think mine going to be quite so stripped down
