And thanks for the kind words.

Hi guys,

Love the sound of the campaign. I have an old pz4 that I built as a kid and its pretty close to a wreck... does that count?
Anyway I am thinking about making it a real wreck. Does a conversion count or does it need to be built from scratch?

Cheers

OK, I came across another pic, this time a kubelwagen. I want to use it as an extra in the 1/48 campaign with my Berlin sewer dio - is that legit? If not, I'll find something else no worries.

I think someone else here is doing the Marder in this photo (color photo)

Kevin... the Sherman is coming along, is there a bit of modulation going on here or is it just the way the photo's turned out?

Dazza D.... The Campaign rules are that the Model must be un-built/ un-started with a picture to prove this. If you really want to use your Panzer IV you can, but along with a new build, say a Ko'd HalfTrack etc... next to your KO'd Pnz IV, I hope you join us.

Martin .... No rush to start here but welcome anyway, I think your the first modern AFV in this campaign!

Greg.... I think your doing the other half of Phil's Marder scene! your more than welcome to build a KO'd Kubelwagon to use in your other Campaign / Berlin Sewers Dio, anybody not seen this yet? check it out it's awesome looking.

Duncan,

You're correct. There is color modulation going on and since I've posted the last photo, I've added to the modulation through airbrushing different shades of OD and then using oils to add some more depth. I'll have to add some more photos this week if I get the chance.

Thanks

Kevin - very nice start to painting

Here's my kit, the vintage Bandai 1/48 Kubelwagen. Can't wait to blow it up I'm sure getting the rims/tires looking right will be the hardest part

Greg,

Thanks. The painting is moving along nicely so maybe I'll get some new photos online by the end of the weekend.

Those tires sure will be a challenge to get them to look right. Good luck.

Hi all,

First time ive looked at this thread and i must say there is some fine modeling happening here. The Knocked out subject is too advanced for me, so im gonna take notes and learn some great tips and techniques. i may have the nerve to give it a go some day. Great work everyone!

Kevin - that sherman is sweet!

Evening everyone, here are two progess photos of my Sherman. These photos show the Sherman with most of the painting completed and no flat coat. I've also been able to get most of the figure painting done and I've added the first layer of mud on the dio base; both not shown in the photos. I think it will take another two light layers to get the model in the base with the mud layered up around the vehicle and tracks so it looks right.

Gary, thanks for the complement. You should get in on this since the campaign doesn't end until 2013. Come on in, the waters fine.

Thanks

Kevin

Kevin - more good progress from you

Gary - you should just do an old kit and give it a go, what better way to learn as you go

Phill - glad I could help. I found some more pics on google too, this is the rear shot of your Marder searched 'destroyed Marder pic'

Hi Greg,
I would need to buy a kit to junk it! i have a small stash but they are all expensive kit that i have plans for.
Im going to keep an eye on you guys and if i come across a cheapie kit and i like it, maybe ill jump in. well see.
I also dig the color pic and B&W pics of the Marder! you got more color pics?

Kevin,
That Sherman is freaking awsome! you gonna junk it or just superficial damage?

Gary

Gary,

Thanks. The Sherman will have both tracks blown from mines and mired in mud which is based on three photos of three different Shermans I have all showing similar damage from mines. I think they are all from the Oct-Nov timeframe in 44.

Oh, and those photos of the Marder are great. Thanks for posting those over the course of this forum.

Managed to repaint the Cougar after the chipping mishap. Glosscote and decals on... just need to find time to weather it.

Shaved down a kit rim, drilled out some holes and added some styrene rod wheel studs.

Hi all, glad this campaign is still going, I've fancied doing a ko'd tank for a while, some great pictures for inspiration already put up, not sure what to do yet as I've a few half built kits laying around to 'destroy' so I'll have a look later.
I've got a 1:72 T34 and bergetiger in the stash maybe something with those.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!

Afternoon everyone,

I've been able to make some progress and was able to get the ground work just about completed so I figured it was time to make the border for the base. I've cut some 1/4 in plywood, painted the inside black,, glued it to the base and secured them a clamps specifically designed for making boxes.

Next I'll stain and varnish the wood to give it a nice look and then move onto finishing the groundwork.

Thanks. Tonight I was able to get a coat of varnish on stained wooden border. I figure by next week it should be done.
