Istvan, thank you very much for your reply. Thought of making it a little muddy, i usually dont go for muddy vehicles but liked a photo i saw on a film and thought of doing that.
Nathan, thanks a lot. I think Panzer grey is ideal for worn vehicles. The paint is Vallejo German Grey as base. Then some fading with German Grey + RLM 78. It gives a nice grey blueish shade as worn by the sun.... The highlighted areas (eg. fenders) are the same colour mix but with some more RLM 78.
Greg, thank you very much i was not so sure if iwent too far with the worn out look. So i guess it is ok.
John.

Simon,
Try editing your post with the pictures and remove '/image.file' from your image links. They should end in .jpg
For example your picture of the M24 in the box, the link should look like this (between the image tags): http://i1158.photobucket.com/albums/p618/hannover67/106-1.jpg

Cheers Nate that was a great help I have some more pics of the progress that I made over the course of this afternoon so here they are.
All tracked up and ready to go!
The hull is now complete and I have started adding in the smaller details. The whole thing will be painted when I have
finished attaching the smaller parts to the hull
Thanks a lot for fixing the image tags on the earlier post Gary that was a great help!!
Also this is the first time I have used link by link tracks on any of my models so please excuse any visible mistakes!

I had pretty much all day to devote to modelling today so I got a lot done on the M24 so here are the pics of my progress so far....
more small parts added and hull painted
Why are the fiddley jobs always the most satisfying?
More of the smaller parts added and a second coat of paint applied
Thank god for the swiss army penknife- what would we do without it?!
If you look closely you will see a tiny little handle in the end of the tweesers (from that penknife in the background!)
Turret assembled and fitted to hull
Final coat of paint!
Yeah my modelling technique is a little out-dated, I don't even possess a spray gun!!!!
Decals are all on
When I say they are all on, this model was supposed to depict an M24 serving with the 752nd tank batallion U.S army in Italy in the April of 1945 but some of the transfers are too big. the number 17s on the sides are far too big and there should be a seperate 1 and 7 to go on the back of the turret but I had to leave these off because they were far too big. the ones on the sides at least fit on the model but for the one over the hatch on the right hand side of the turret I simply placed the decal over the hatch then cut around the outline of the hatch but if anyone else is planning on doing this kit then I advise you to get some alternative decals from somewhere because the ones supplied with the kit are the wrong scale. Other than that this is a great kit!
All I have to do now is the weathering and then I can call this officially finished!

Hey guys. I just found out about this campaign and since I have just started an AFV Club Stuart M3A3 I decided to join. I've only completed the first couple of steps so if that's too far along to join, just let me know.
Oh and let me say that the reason I joined is that I haven't completed a model in 3 or 4 years and hopefully this will commitment give me a kick in the butt.

Simon - Wow, that was fast! Your Chaffee looks great, I'm especially impressed by your brush work, very smooth.
Cary and Alex - Welcome on board!
I'm slowly making progress on my Pz 35(t). The hull is mostly together and I have primed and painted the road wheels.
Pretty soon it will be time for the link and length tracks. I may appeal to the Armorama experts for advice, especially on how to sag the tracks.

@Nate, I built the original CMK boxing years ago. That brass barrel looks wonderful. As far as the tracks, I've seen them built with some sag so it's possible. I'm interested to know myself.

Alex - The barrel is really sweet. Tamiya cast new MG's as well which I think have better detail compared to the CMK. I actually lost one of the fender running lights and had to steal one from a CMK Pz 35 I got on ebay.
Panzer Blitz was definitely a classic. My dad got introduced to Avalon Hill games by a friend who then moved away. He needed a opponent so he taught me to play. I was 8 or 9 at the time, so it was many years before I actually won a game. This friend also had Squad leader and all the modules. I was absolutely transfixed by the maps and counters, too bad it was about impossible to play.

Ok fellas,
This campaign is now half over. You still have 6 months to get your projects completed.
There are a few who have completed, but still need to upload a photo of the completed build to the campaign gallery to get credit for participating. I have sent a PM to those that still need to upload photos.

I figured I'd post some pictures. This is an old kit and pretty straightforward. The plan is to build a M3 Stuart being used by StuG Abt. 197 as a tow vehicle. These were tanks provided to the Soviets through Lend-Lease and then captured by the Germans.
I'll be upfront and say that I'm taking some artistic license with this one. Also, this vehicle will eventualy be displayed with a StuG III in a diorama. And I should have gone with a newer kit.
First up, I assembled the running gear. I roughed up the roadwheels some. I figured these vehicles would be ridden pretty hard. I went ahead and applied some Celluclay mud to the lower hull and running gear. I planned to do it in two stages to avoid over-doing it. The second application will be after I close in the gaps for the hull. From there it's basic turret assembly and the upper hull.
Next we have more work on the upper hull. Tops and bottoms are fitted and the turret added just for a look-see. I left out the two side mounted 30cals. I'm probably going to leave off the turret one as well. Then I enclosed the hull gaps with sheet styrene and applied the second layer of Celluclay mud. It's currently drying so that's where we stop off for now.
Next I'll be adding the modifications that the Germans might have done to make it into a tow vehicle. I figure jerrycan racks, a stowage box, and maybe some sort of tow bar. Paint will be Field Gray as opposed to Panzer Gray.
Comments? Questions?
