Hello Grendier37,
I am sorry if I offended you in any way.
But I am just making sure that everyone is going by the rules as there has been a few in past campaign's that have used pre built/bought already made models just for the ribbon. Why I have no idea as campaign's are to show off your technique's and different styles for building models.
I am just keeping the campaign as close to the rules as I can and I am trying to stay out of the way of the members giving them as much lee way as I can.
Thanks for sharing your build and photo's,
Cheers,
Bruce

Andrey, I really like that AK-kit! How much was that? It really makes a big difference.
Concerning my kit, I finally heard back from Tamiya about my crappy decals. Here's their email:
"Unfortunately, kit 35159 has been discontinued for quite some time and
parts/decals are no longer available. We will make a request for decals to
our headquarters, if they are available we could have them in approximately
12 - 16 weeks. We'll contact you vie email when/if they arrive."
Doesn't sound too promising, but who knows...maybe I'll get a specially-made decal sheet when I come home from school! And maybe that sheet will end up costing me more than if I bought a sheet of standard aftermarket number/letter stencils...

Hi,
A short update ..
Molding is not bad. But very thin adhesive areas. The spaces remained at the rear, some putty..
(I'm sorry my English is not good. Please speak slowly )
Enjoy..

Everybodies builds are inspiring! I have started the M4A2, and will be building it as a tank on Pelelieu. I have been so busy, no pics as yet.

I think that stowage set is really impressive! I've got that Tamiya Patton (probably everyone has one in their stash ).
I don't want you to be intimidated, Mojo, but there's a fantastic build of the same Hue theme over on the Viet Nam campaign-- could give you some ideas too.
Cheers!

@ Andrey, Robby - Hopefully the tank will be built by next week. The sandbags and stowage set from Legend will certainly enhance the appearance of the tank
@ Sean - my diorama will be similar to that of PPT (Vietnam campaign) except for the figures which will be lined up against a wall alongside the tank rather than behind it. The tank will be positioned on a road, with a gunner firing from the turret.
Time to get cracking with the project......

As I mentioned in an earlier post I'll be building an OV-10D Bronco for the campaign. Two squadrons of the USMC, VMO-1 & VMO-2, were deployed with OV-10's during Operation Desert Storm.
This is the kit from Academy. I'll be using an alternative camouflage scheme to the one seen on the box.
Here is the dated picture, sorry for the quality; the laptop screen isn't very photogenic.
A detailed shot of the sprues and decals.
Finally we're getting down to some real work. What we have here are the fuselage halves of the Bronco, they're so short because of the twin-tail arrangement of this plane.
As you can see there are quite a few sink marks on each side but I've only filled the two most likely to be seen when the fuselage is joined.
Except for the ribbed section everything on the right the various pieces seen here help form the cockpit and nosecone. Unfortunately most of the are afflicted with visible sink marks they need filled or removed.

Here's my Pelelieu M4A2 as of today.
I'm using these for the supplemental armor. They welded track lengths to the turret and hull.
Here's one side of the turret.

Some nice progress here guys, I have made some myself on Nite Mare II
actually I think I'm finished other then a dull coat
a mainly OOB build with a few scraps from the spare parts box and the spikes on the upper turret hatches
a black and burnt umber wash was added after the Futures and the mud
The picture didn't come out that great even though I was outside in natural light
Please tell me what ya all think before I call this 1 a wrap

Great build Sal!! The only suggestion I could suggest would be to try to dirty up the rollers/tracks a bit more. I'm not sure how to write this without seeming like you have to repaint the whole damn thing but lemme try here...in the two pictures focused on the drive sprockets, it looks like the brown was very evenly painted on, rather than a haphazard spew of brown bits and chunks simulating kicked up mud during an island invasion. If you can either get some texture onto the bogies and tracks or maybe even a bit more of the underlying green poking out, I think it'd be a very dramatic improvement (and please don't get me wrong...your build is already stellar!!) Also, it may just be that the flash was really strong and it softened all the details I'm complaining about...your eyes would know best! Once again, congratulations on a great build!

No worries Bruce,
As it is I have waaaaaaay over-extended myself group build-wise and probably won't start on anything for this campaign until March. Besides the M60, I'm also working on an Academy AH-1W. I started that before the end of the year, I'm using the Verliden update set (wish I would have used the Cobra set), the Eduard weapons set and Two Bob's decals. I'll shoot some pictures of it and post them here in the near future.
I'm thinking I'll do a Phantom for this campaign.

You might want to break up the color a bit. Every spec of mud being the same color looks a bit odd. There are typically a number of variations in the dirt/mud, as well as wet and dry sections of mud, etc. Check out the articles here on armorama for some step by step guides.
Here's a great one by Adam Wilder:
https://armorama.kitmaker.net//features/1221&page=1
I've played around with these types of techniques, and it really brought my finishes up to a new standard.

Hi,
A campaign where you can get a ribbon with an anchor and a globe? Cool!
I've been thinking about what I could build. I had a look at the Tamiya M-48A3 in the stash, but the guy I bought it from has worked on the wheels already.
So, I'll participate with a 1/72 Fujimi TA-4 used as a FAC aircraft in Vietnam. That the option ith the red bunny on the Wolfpak sheet.
I had also thought of building the Dragon figurines you see in the picture. I have not done figurines in ages and I'm not sure the result would be something I'd want to earn the ribbon with. I'll give them a go but my main build for the campaign will be the Skyhawk.
The newspaper is from Belgium and appeared on the 12th of January. The date is probably hard to see, but it shows that soccer player Matias Suarez got the "golden shoe" award and that happened on the 11th of January.
Cheers, Stefan.
