seeing some great work! well this is my update, I have to say that even though this is only my 3rd model i've done i'm impressed by the level of detail on the Trumpter kit, my other two kits was a Tamiya and a Revell, they was good but this kit seems to go to another level.
comments welcome, just be gentle on me! lol

Hello All,
I am sorry I have not been here on the thread as my system does not like this thread for some reason.
I have spent over 3 hours each day trying to log on to it and have failed for the last 10+ days till today.
I am going to go back and look over the post and see if I have missed anything.
Cheers,
Bruce
EDIT:
@ Hello Alex,
I looked at my Light Armour books and the vehicle that you are modeling did have the 3 color that you want to do. It was assigned to a Marine MEU that would go to Europe in case of conflict. So I think that is would be allowed.
I am sorry about the late reply.
Cheers,
Bruce

Finished. I had to scratch build a set of landing gear for an F-22 and a set of tail fins for an F/A-18 because I lost a few of those tiny pieces but they came out okay. I can't tell which F/A-18 has the scratch built tail fins.
Here they are before decals:
Completed
And a close up of the Marine V-22s

Gentlemen,
It has been a while since I last posted here. I was finishing another campaign and finally chose my subject for this one. But I had almost forgotten the "/newspaper and pieces" shot to start.
OK then, my subject will be a Marine F-4 Phantom (Italeri kit) Colors I haven't totally decided yet, but leaning towards VMFA-212, or possibly VMFA-323. I just want to do something different.
At any rate, here's the kickoff shots ! Enjoy ....Bruce

Unfortunately guys I've only found out I'll need to move apartments within the next couple of weeks and so I've had to pack the Bronco I'm building for the campign away. I don't know when I'll be able to get back to it yet, I don't even know what sort of modelling space I'll have when I move to be honest but I'll make do I'm sure.

Gentlemen,
After getting in some goodies for the F-4, I've found this will be too long a project to make the deadline. Sooooo.... I have decided to switch my entry to the Monogram F-8 Crusader. I'm well aware the Hasegawa is much better, but I have a stash of the Monogram F-8's.
So if I managed this right, you should see the starting pics below. Let the FUN begin !!!!! Semper Fi........Bruce

Here are some progress shots of my USMC Cpl during the Spanish American war of 1898. For the most part the figure is finished.,just little fine tunning. The figure is loading another round in his Lee rifle in deffence of the US base at "Gitmo" Cuba. Any feed back would be nice.
Know for the really hard part painting.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand I'm done!! I've been done with the plastic for a while, but the base and the full dio needed work. So here it is.
The foil-water had already been spray-painted blue, but I gave it some contrast by making a wash of a slightly lighter blue (it's brighter in the picture than in person) and applying it in random spots and along the wakes.
An uncut splash of the contrast color was then applied heavily along the wakes using a Q-Tip.
And finally the model was glued on using a mixture of the contrast color and white glue. After it dried, white was painted on to give the appearance of churning water. White was also drybrushed heavily along the wakes and lightly across most of the water.
The view of the stern-churn
Starboard wakes and tools (I still just think that rope is so cool! )
Just wanted to give attention to the figures. Despite not using any fancy-pants oils or pastels or whatever, I think they came out just fine. And I was glad when doing my research to find that Marine AAV crews are permitted to wear the OD coveralls...made my life SO much easier! Here's the commander in the UGWS pod,
And the driver
This is the chosen display angle. It now sits proudly on my bookshelves alongside my MGMC dio. So happy with how this build turned out. In the words of my father, though, "I still can't believe you cut your model in half!"
And so I am finished with my build. My thanks to Bruce for starting this whole campaign, and thanks to all those who helped me out along the way. I'll be watching the rest of your builds too...some great work going on here! OORAH!!

The other night I was watching Full Metal Jacket And the scene where Joker meets Cowboy and the rest of his squad might make an interesting diorama I plan to convert some figures in a relaxed pose and even the dead VC sitting in the corner. Here's what I did so far
Let me know if this would be acceptable

I'm in for this one! I am building the 1/72 Hobby Boss Ch-46. I do not have newspapers at my house so I used the next best thing. Hopefully this counts. I scratch built some details for the lacking interior of the cargo bay, particularily seat netting on the right. I also scratched a fire extinguisher, as well as some control boxes, and seat belts. This is my first crack at this, usually I build soley oob.

Thanks Bruce!
So, I got in the groove, and finished my Sea Knight. I have already built the 1/48, but I wanted one that could fit in my display case. The build was pretty easy, and the paint offered no real obsticles. My only complaint was the canopy... It was terrible... Literally the edges of the windows were barely defined, which made masking a chore. Luckily with acrylics, one can use a toothpick post paint to fix edges. I decided that I wanted crisp edges on the camo, so I used kneadable eraser rolled and formed to mask off the necessary areas. I used lifecolor flat finish, as I have yet to find anything else as good. For those who have not used it, and are thinking to, make sure to thin the clear with some distilled water. Also, you will have to clean your airbrush a time or two, as this stuff clogs quickly. I really hate masking cabin windows... So I used Krystal Klear to do those. Thanks to advice from the helo campaign a while back!! Anyway, here are my finished photos! I may post a pic or two of it next to the pave low I did, just for a size comparison. Thanks for a great campaign idea!!
