Never seen an F StuG with all those late features on the mantlet and the return wheels.

Jeff .. well to enlighten you a bit to the great tricks our German friends got up to with the STuG here's some pics i just found to really confuse the hell out of ya ..just me ,,it is me .
Here's a STuG C with the pigs head manlet,the F is very similar .
And here's a pic of a later G model fitted with F parts
and here's some drawings of G models with look more like a F model than it does a G
Oh for the return rollers i used these cause well ! they looked much better than the kits ones and 2 considering how many pics i have seen of G models with early return rollers its very possible that you would find a F model with later parts . hence that first pic .
Got an idea why to Jeff matey .. numbers buddy .. and we all know that towards the end of the war the Germans were getting anything and everything fit for combat , so if they had some old F's knocking around which had been used for parts it's feasible they stuffed parts of the newer models to get these ready ..but then again its strange to see newer models with old parts ..i'm so confused dude .
Hell mate i wish this stuff was easy sometimes
Mike i told you it wouldn't stay normal didnt i .. you know me ..can't leave anything standard .

First pic is a StuG III Ausf.C with a 7.5CM StuK 40L/48, not even close to an F. Yours is a bit fabricated.
Second pic I see nothing but a true G ... where are the F parts you claim? Anyway, the discussion is that you are seeing a C not an F, bud.
Don't shoot the messenger. Rule #2) "You must show a picture of the box that the model you are building."

Well since i can't find the damn picture again on the net of the tank i wanted to build i am going to tear this one apart and throw nearly 38 hrs of work out the window.
Been finding heaps of C model stug's with the pigs head manlet and even tho John saw the pic himself i can't find it again so into the scrap box it goes .

There's a problem if this is all you've done in 38 hours. And you must be careful of pictures or images you find on the 'Net. Unless its a combat photo or a production image or even a verified prototype, a single image of this F you have seen doctored this way is really on shaky grounds ... with all due respects.
Too often it could be a vehicle that was partially destroyed and then just had items thrown on it. Besides, we were looking for models to be built that had a picture of the box that the model you are building.
I didn't sign up for this nor do I want to be putting out fires (there's that saying again that you don't understand) all because of want. I thought the guidelines were really simple to follow and were spelled out. If someone feels even the slightest bit of controversy with what they are attempting or contemplating on building then bring it up for clarification! Don't feel as if you're seeking "permission", it's just how things are done in a Campaign.
But, if this isn't how it's supposed to be then someone else step up to the plate and take over. I'm in it for the fun, not a freakin' rodeo and I have plenty of other things to build than a bad case of indigestion.

Hi Sal,
Looking very nice indeed sir!!! As far as I know their uniforms were same style cut as the panzer uniforms, just in a field grey or green as technically they belonged to the artillery branch of the armed forces not the panzer branch.
But I am properly wrong on that lol
Cheers Mike

Hi Sal - nice progress. I'm pretty sure they didn't wear the panzer black, especially the early war/ early model stugs as they were part of the artillery branch vs panzer arm. The field gray uniforms I think is correct.

Sal, Field gray is correct for StuG crew. The piping on their collars was usually red for artillery.

Jeff ,, its all good matey ,, not to worried about the little beast ,,think i will convert it into a 10.5cm version ..there's very few of those on here and i've always liked the little tank with the big gun anyway .
I know what you mean about doctored pics ,,i found a good one today ..they say its a F but you look at the back plate behind the fighting compartment and clearly its a G .
So i am gonna build this one instead
Phill

Hi guys,
first off many thanks to Petro and Jeff, I can now descent sized pictures on here .
@ Tanksami, Mike the sommer is usually between 25 and 35°C
here, I know my nationality is English but I live in Germany,
in place called Münster. At the moment its 29°C and raining,
great I can do some serious building tonight.
@Sal here´s a shot of a different uniform for you, at a guess
it´s light grey/green with a dark green disruptive pattern
Paul

OK its decided i am turning the STuG into a 10.5cm Sturmhaubitze Ausf F and thanks to a mate i have also gotten a very nice set of F model return rollers so at least thats gonna look the part ,,next is the gun ..Hobby easy should come to the party there with a set which includes the gun and manlet ,,i am getting this cause i have an old Tamiya 10.5cm Sturmhaubitze 42 Ausf G but the gun looks more like a 150mm not a 105 ,, its freaking huge ..looks cool but not right .
So the next time this is seen hopefully its gonna look more like it should .

I could have helped you out with the return rollers and 105 gun, if I had known. They are from MY DRAGON kit which I am retro fitting to a mid to late G with an L/48 and late rollers.
By the way, I do have plans for such a similar tank too ... in 1/16th using the Profiline kit and a HL PIII donor tank with Winterketten tracks.

Jeff ,, Thank you for the offer, its means alot to me and to be honest i didnt know myself until yesterday ,,one thing which is annoying me is the lack of pic's of the F model Sturmhaubitze ,,, theres G's all over the place so it clearly shows which one was produced more but from the pics i can find the F STuG and the F Sturmhaubitze looked bloody near identical so this will be a pretty easy thing to build .. i will of course make look like its been used ,,not like in the pic which i am guessing could be a prototype ,,its so clean and there;s no tools fitted at all .
Either way its slightly full steam ahead but if things don't work out with Hobby easy then if that offer is still open then i will take it

Sure, or cancel the order if that's all you have coming. There's no need for money spent, and as long as the shipping isn't too much the parts are yours.
No offence but I try to lean towards more books as a source of reference than pictures on-line. Yes, they are a cheaper BUT they can also be expensive all at the same time, if you know what I mean.
I'll look around to see if I have any of which you are wanting. The prototype picture you are describing is about the only I have seen as well but at the moment I no not know the production figures of the vehicle but I am starting to believe it was short lived.

Enough of all this BS chat get back to work and make some progress and post the Photos that Jeff wanted to see
3 Spruces of tracks cleaned and ready to be made into links
Base coat applied
scrounged around and found some storage
does it need more
Ok 3 of the 4 women are at the beach so as soon as I get back from dropping the female dog for her bath I can get started on those track lengths
