@BBD468 – Gary,
Master Windo, that is some knock – down kick – butt work!
You’ve created some great eye-catching features throughout the entire diorama. My favorite, and first time seeing this, is the lone shoe on the ground and the dude taking care of some toe jam, way to cool. The stowage blends in well with the groundwork as does the weathering on the vehicle. Nice touch with the axe on the tree stump and wood chips on the ground. I also like your damaged stonewall. And your figures are incredible. Like where you parked the bicycle.
How about a few sprinkled leaves on the ground over in the area by the where the tree stump, wooden fence and on the road at the rear of the vehicle? Will you be adding the 2cm antennas to the vehicle?
Gary, as you know these vehicles are heavy and that equates to the contact surfaces on the tracks and guide horns that come in contact with the ground, road wheel sides and drive sprocket teeth to become quite polished in those areas. So will you be adding this detail and sorry if you already have as this does not show up in the photographs you just posted? Anyhow, another Gold metal winner!
I’ve been lurking and have seen some really good builds; there are a lot of creative and talented people in this campaign. Can’t wait for Stug Campaign 2.
@panzerconor – Conor, don’t let the enemy surveillance distract you from accomplishing your mission, stay focused.
And the rest of you keep building and posting I’m enjoying myself.

Gary... or Mesmer should I call you! This is an awesome build/dio. Yhose tanker looks really friendly with each other, maybe you should have built a tandem bike so they can chat and laugh while riding I'm with Eddy with the leaf and sprocket thing. That said, It is freaking great brother! You have once again prove that modelling is an art. Now, Do you know When the Boggs ``how to be a master modeller`` video is comming out?

Thanks so much fellas! You are all too kind.
Im really satisfied with the results and will leave everytrhing as is for now. Before next years Model shows come around and if i take it im definately gonna address the red pipeing and put more graphite on the tracks maybe drybrush some steel as there is graphite on but it doesnt show in the pics. Could be better for sure.
Thanks again you guys!!!

Gary,
I'm a bit concerned about that dunkelgelb bicycle in a scene obviously before February 1943... Just kidding, awesome work Gary! I do think you should add a bicycle bell to the handle bars...
Conor,
Your making me feel guilty, sorry to hear the kit is such a slog. It does look good from the pictures, so hang in there. I imagine that Pz.IV J will have similar instruction issues.

Gary just an outstanding job, can you tell us what you used for the ground work, my dirt roads never look like that
The figures look great too looks like the 1 standing is saying "Hans what are you doing with toe cheese the Fuher will have you court marshaled if he see that stuff"

Gary,
Well done! With the minor changes you talked about, it will be over the top. Keep up the good work.
Connor,
I fully understand what you're talking about. I'm currently building a Dragon kit that has listed parts that don't exist which becomes quite the challenge. Just keep your eye on the target.

Hahaha it's all good, the kit was fun up to that point, I actually fixed a few problems (after 20 minutes of looking through the instructions and sprue after sprue), so I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. The schurzen is intimidating, but I think the Pz IV J's mesh schurzen is much more of a challenge. But hey, it's too cool to not do

Sal - The ground work is actual dirt from the backyard, very dry and fine. I sprinkle the dirt over a cellu-clay - white glue mix. After dry for 24hrs. I then airbrush the earth color tone or tones i want. There are no pigments on the ground work. Just dirt and paint.
Nathan - Im gonna put the bell and a playing card and clothes pin on the spokes too!

I got a flat coat on and some highlights done.
I was painting two of the four figures the other day, when one fell on the floor. I then went to pick it up, but stepped on it when i stood up of my stool!
It is salvagable, but i am not sure if i want to use these figures. They are really soft on the detail. Add my limited figure painting experience and you might understand why!

Here are some in progress shots. I was going to add a resin canvas cover for the mantel though when I tried to add it it was too far along the build. Next time. Just getting the tracks ready to install. Have not yet settled on a painting procedure, any suggestions? I usually paint them gun metal, rust shade, high light then add weathering.

Snorri, your pics are quite blurry there, Bub.
My Update
Well, i applied my first filter ever to this StuG. I used a dark green oil with turpinoid.
I'm thinking i like it. Unfortunately, i didn't photograph the model before i applied it. So i have nothing to really compare it.
I should be way farther ahead, but i'm addicted to COD Modern Warfare 3 for the X Box.

Very nice looking stug! If I may point something, the teeth of the sprocket would have been bare metal from rubing against the tracks. Maybe you already plan to correct that, if so, sorry for the comment. Anyway, awesome job on the stug!! The filter looks just great.
Btw, have you tried Battelfield 3? That's my addiction

I will still be tweaking certain parts of the finish.
I haven't tried any of the Battlefields yet.
My nephews play MW3, so that's why I got an Xbox. I do know the youngest Nephew plays BF3. I've only got MW# an d Forza motorsports 4.
