It's been so long since I posted no one probably remembers I signed up to do two Stug. III's at once in an effort to make a dent in my stash. Thanks to the extension I may just finish in time for this campaign. They are both ready for painting and weathering.
More soon.

Yeah... REAL life issues got in my way so I won't finish my own Campaign BUT, I really want to thank everyone for their awesome work and to a very successful Campaign.
Not too bad for my first attempt.
Now to work on getting the ribbons out.

The figs are done also - pics soon.
Here's where I'm at (the hatches and periscope are masked up ).

Well as of now I've only got a little bit of work left. I tried mixing AK dark mud with plaster, but I used way...way...way too much plaster, so it needs some work
This was my first stab at AK Interactive products, and I'm already hooked. The stuff stinks real bad, but the result is great and it's a breeze to work with. I actually met Ian, the President of the company (in the US) at a RR hobby show and got a tutorial in how to use it. Nice guy, made it look really easy. Anyways I should hopefully have one more post before I call this one done.

an update on my stug IIIG early: painting almost finished getting the track together.

My 2 Stug's are moving forward. The Cyber Hobby one is a little further along than the other kit. After I took these I sprayed it with a flat clear coat, and the decal with the name looks a lot better than in these pictures.
Still pushing to get them both done by the campaign finish date.

Great work guys !
I'm calling my Stug III F8 done.
The crew is the fantastic new Stug Crew by Evolution, the Waffen SS Grenadier is also a new Evolution figure and it compliments the Crew really well.
Here are pics of the finished "Stuggie" :
Pics uploaded to the gallery also
Now to move onto the Trumpeter E-100 for the "Super Heavy" Campaign
Cheers,
Paul

Thanks Irvin and John,
I'm happy with the way the Stuggie came out. I think I'll do another one soon with the "tank" winter crew and tank riders.
Probably a bit more storage on that one too when I get around too it.
"super heavy" and "paper panzer" projects first though
Cheers,
Paul

Yikes, Paul's F/8 is awesome, and it's the figures that do it. I don't have any good crew figures in winter gear, so my F/8 will be buttoned up.
Since I last posted I finished up the lower hull. It's my first use of hairspray, and it's a pretty easy technique. The only modifications to the lower hull were to beat up some of the sheet metal parts and convert one of the winterketten links on each side to regular links. Photos often show this. The right side only needed 91 links, the left 90, even though it sags more. (Next step for armor kits: working track tensioners!) My winter camo philosophy is the crew is not going to mask off the tires when they whitewash it, but the whitewash isn't going to stay on rubber very well either.
Only one week left so the upper hull is only getting two modifications. (1)I've been thinning down the fenders so they can be bent up realistically. (2)The kit parts for the air intake screens have to go. I built frames out of styrene and used tulle (bridal veil) for the screen. It may be too coarse but it's the same as the raised detail on the kit part.

A lot of great models in this campaign.
Thanks for extending the deadline, without it I could not have finished in time.
