Bought some new washes from Vallejo some time ago and had to try them out on my Coelian. I might have gone a bit overboard with the washes, although I enjoyed the process. I've previously used AK washes and they are a bit easier to apply, but they do produce a hefty smell.
The Vallejo wash flakes off when dried, which makes it a bit unforgiving if you let it stay too long and you want to correct the amount of wash applied to an area.

Uhh.. I think I'm actually done!
My best paint job and weathering so far and it has been fun to try out new products and techniques.
There's a few missteps in the final result, but at least I got the bakelite handles on the wire cutter this time. 4th times a charm!

Here is my build for the Anti-aircraft campaign.
This is the AFV sdkfz 215/17 Drilling
The kit was a bit of a pain, body did not fit together to well and the construction of the gun was horredous. the brass barrels kept failing out and the ammunition was to ridget to glue to the ammo box and the gun. OR thsi could have been my novice building skills. Still need improvemnent on my figure paininting
The dio is supposed to be the biker has gone to get food and comes back and discovers that all of his colleagues have gone.
sorry I cannot make the pictures bigger, but I think if you click them they will go bigger I am not very good with computers and I do not have enough room in my gallery to add progress pictures.

Well, i've gone completely outside of my comfort zone and am doing my first WWII 1/35 kit. it's the Tamiya Flakverling and it's going together very nicely. This is just after 2 evenings at the bench:
Got to stop at the LHS on way home this afternoon for some German Grey and start painting tonight...

Hello mates,
I'm really impressed of the models of this campaign so far. I'm more into aircraft and I like to photograph my finished models in some kind of airfield environment. As for aircraft of WW 2, I thought a halftrack with AAA would come in handy on a picture. So here's my kit for this campaign and I hope I won't fall too far from your high standards

Basic paint with the wheels reattached.
And now the dry-brushing. In some shots the Stinger launchers look crooked. I think it's the line grid mat I have the model sitting on. They look pretty straight on this solid surface.
And with that I'm calling this one done. It's a neat looking little vehicle, but a kit with some issues....launcher assembly and the flimsy suspension. It had some really frustrating moments and I am glad it is done. I'll pull a couple of the better shots from these to add to the gallery.

Dumb me! lol That's what happens when you're in a forum where the language ain't the one you were born/raised with.
Thank's a lot. Since there's no LHS in my small town, I guess I'll have to search in the WHS - World Hobby Shop known as eBay

Some great builds here....
Me, I'm just doing a simple Tamiya quad flakverling OOB, no base, no figures, no extras. My first venture into WWII land kits: who knows where it will lead! (Did some 1/72 WWII torpedo boats years ago)
Anyway, settled on the grey I'll use thanks to some advice in the painting section of this forum. Never realized dunkelgrau was such debated topic.
I've gone for the lighter "dark grey" and this is how it currently looks:
Now to start weathering.

Hi Guys,
While I did some picture-reserarch about the Krupp Protze, I came across this Picture:
Surce: http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r577/Rotenbichen/KruppProtze_9.jpg
showing the Protze with a 20mm Flak in it´s cargo area
As I had the good old Tamiya kit and Tristars Flak 38 late (No. 35029) already in my stash, I was ready to start...
The Tamiya kit build up nicely, made just a few additions
Selfmade wooden floor:
The Flak on ist place, lots of small plastic- and pe-parts...
and now with paint
Next step is completing the weathering, and maybe some figures...

@Fabian: That's awesome work you've done on that build. I presume that is real wood, both for the side "armor" and planking?
@Tom: Good luck!

Despite having torn my rotator cuff, I should be able to finish the Shilka tomorrow. The weatherman said I'll be safe from those annoying storms.
