Really sorry and having read the rules I've realised my error! I will get another kit (good excuse) and restart. Sorry for the inconvenience.

No biggie! Just get started soon!

Finished.
With the weather in Wisconsin lately I have been able to be at the workbench a lot.
My build represents 8th army 32nd division (The 32nd division was made up of Wisconsin and Michigan national guard units) Military police Yamagushi Japan 1946.
I used bits of brass for empty tool holders and straps, got the top from a Italeri kit.

I completed the early Willys, slat-grilled MB. I have marked it as a vehicle from 5th Army, 101 MP Bn with field mods (blackout light and Garand holder) from late in the war.

Here are some pics.

Here you can see the instrument panel pretty well. Of note, I used Archer instrument transfers on it. I also put the tire pressure marking (TP 25) on the dash as well. This was accurate for WWII vehicles. The tire pressure above the rear wheel openings and on the front fenders was a post war feature.

A good shot of the Willys script on the rear.

I plumbed the engine compartment with ignition wires, coil, distributor, battery cables, fuel line, etc. I also added the support rod from the radiator to the firewall as well.

It was a fun build and I like how it came out.

As always, all comments are welcomed.

You DO know we need assembly pictures Gino. You entered a 75% started JEEP... the rules stated it cannot be started.

Hmm, are you questioning if I actaully built them? I don't get it. I don't usually take pictures until construction is complete then again once it is painted and finished. I don't see the utility in showing me putting parts on. I think a built, raw model shows what has been done.

Anyways, here are the two jeeps I have built and shown here:

Page 11: Willys M606/CJ3B post with it in-progress and finished.

Early, slat-grilled Willys MB in-progress (whoops, guess I forgot to post it in the thread) and painted above.

Oh it's no question of who built it, just thought you would do as eveyone else is doing by following this:

"The Rules and Regs
1. Builds can not be started before the campaign start date.

2. You must show a picture of the box that the model you are building. Included with this you are required to also display a picture of any aftermarket items being used with your build.

3. Model must be unstarted and can involve as many kits (kit bashing and scratch building) as needed as long as no construction has started.

4. Any scale or brand is acceptable.

5. An image of your final build must be uploaded into the If it looks, smells and builds like a JEEP Campaign Photo Gallery."

You're "in progress pictures" are of a nearly assembled JEEP and NO picture of the kit before assemble except a diagram. I would think someone of your Seniority would know the program.

Sorry... but no dice.

Whatever. I was just posting pics here to add to the campaign thread. I still don't see the point of showing the sprues or whatever you are looking for. So be it. This is just the reason I don't usually do campaigns, group builds, or whatever they are called these days. Have fun with it.

@ Gino - great work, really liked this MP version. If I were you I would add a little oil spillovers and grease under the hood to make it more dirty, but still it looks wonderful.

Here me final results (sorry, still don't have blue background, but planning to get one ).

Thanks for looking

A quick update.

Suspension.

I went ahead and did some pre-painting of places where I thought it might be tricking to get the AB on.

Back to assembly. Not a whole lot done, but I've really been splitting my model time with other projects.

I have to admit to enjoying this build. I built the Italeri kit back in the 90s and was lukewarm about it. I'm finding the rebox to be a much better experience. It looks to be a straightforward build that I can just sort of relax with.

Keep going guys, it's all looking good!

Hi guys

Some really nice progress with the builds. Below are some photos of my Vietnam gunjeep

Kit assembly and conversion set

Base coat of dark green with yellow green highlight. Earth and dark washed

Detail painting, decal placement and matt varnished

Hopefully by next weekend, the model will be completed. Just some chipping, weathering and final assembly to do

Howdy Y'all:
I finished my Jeep last month and entered it into our March club contest. It took a first place (out of 2 kits). Not a bad little kit for being so small.

I've enjoyed the campaign, lots of good work.
Y'all have a nice day.

This is a bit off topic but maybe one of you in the build can help me.

I'm looking for a 1/35 Jeep for a dio with my M21 halftrack.

I need a good kit for a late war (Jan '45) Jeep. 2nd Armored Div. With the top up would be best but is not not a game changer.

I've looked at the Italeri kit and looks ok but it's not as detailed as some of the newer kits. Most of the newer one, like Bronco's 1942 kit, are not quite right but could made to work.
Figs are no big deal one way or the other. I already have a set in mind. But hey, extras are always good to have.
In suggestions?

If I get the kit soon I might be able to sneak in under the deadline for the campaign too.

The best kit is Bronco's Ford GPW (the version w/37mm AT gun has a top). A close second is Tamiya's Willys MB. It doesn't have a top though. The Body makes a resin top for it.

OK? How did I miss that one?

I saw that kit but never looked at it. I looked at the Bronco 'Airborne' one but not the '37mm AT.'

Thank that should fit the biuld just fine.

This is my first build on this website. I will be modelling this as an SAS vehicle in NW Europe after the Normandy landings.

The base has soil and sand placed on and needs to be primed then painted.

Okay... these latest entries of Commando Cars are stretching the spirit of the Campaign, but I'll allow THEM and only THEM as they are not really JEEPS but are indeed 4-WD.

Next thing you'll see are members wanting to enter Kubelwagons and Staff Cars too.

There are enough JEEPS out there to build.

They are jeeps Jeff - it's the Italeri branding of "Commando Car" that's throwing you-it's just an SAS jeep for NWE 44-45 with added fuel tanks and armor. I don't know why they call it the Commando car-they'd probably sell a lot more under the SAS title. here's the Tamiya rebrand

Hi
new on here. I am interested in a jeep build. I have a couple of Willys Jeeps that I was planning for a SAS/LRDG dio.

There was loads of Jeeps built during and after WWII which I believe were all built under licence from the American manufacturer.

Count me in though.......just one question...how do the campaigns work?
