Jeff,
I think that's one of Patton's Jeeps, probably the one from Bastogne. Most of the pictures I've seen of it are pretty low resolution.

Roger that Alex, you beat me to it.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks, Im glad you like them!
I see Alex answered about the one jeep (Patton's)

As for the Patton Jeep, its the conversion from Plus Model. The conversion is missing one air tank (for the right side), but otherwise is fairly nice. To get the clear vinyl doors, I stuck two pieces of clear postage tape together, smoothing out all the bubbles. The result was a perfect "plastic" look!

On the bench now is a Cable laying jeep (Resicast), Ford GPW (ordnance models conversion) that will be done into a USAAC jeep in north Africa, a standard jeep (using Legend stowage set), and a Hellenic Jeep.
Next batch after those will include a NWE SAS jeep, Follow Me jeep, and a RAF Crash Rescue jeep.

I am going to try to finish up the Legends jeep or the Ford GPW for this campaign, as both of those I started within the time frame to be "legal".

Andy,
That's a nice set of Jeeps you have.

I'm also curious about the one next to the Patton Jeep. I thought it might be a "follow me" style Jeep at an air field but the colors are too subdued. Then I though maybe a smoke/fog generator. I see the compressor and vice but I don't get the front plating and insignia. And with just the one seat I doubt it's a maintenance vehicle.

I've never used clear packing tape for soft windows. I have used plastic bags for the soft windows in some Humvees. I might have to give your idea a try.

Thanks guys, Im glad you like them!

As for the one with the smile face, I found a picture in "Jeep-Jeep-Jeep #2" which is a revised reprint of a book done by Yasuo Ohtsuka.
Amazon Link

if you want a zillion photos and ideas for jeeps, this is a great book to get!

I don't have it in front of me, so I cant give you a page number, but the caption said that it was a modified jeep serving in a depot in England. The rear had been cut away and a compressor and wrench installed, plus the front from an industrial tractor.
When I built my model, I only installed a compressor, and piled in some various tools and spare parts. The front was made from sheet plastic... with all the holes punched by hand! My guess is the original was a left behind scrap from a road accident while a unit was stationed in England in prep for D-day. The guys at the Depot felt they had enough spare parts, and cut off the banged up portions of the body, and made it into a hack to aid in getting around the depot. The compressor provides air for most air-tools, and with the pusher plate installed you could use it to move around large hulks if needed. But, regardless, it did exist! I hope to someday run across the archive photo.

Thanks Andy. Looking over your brigade of JEEPs has inspired me to get back to the bench and work on mine tonight.

I've really never ran across someone who's so into JEEPs like you, but it is inspiring for sure!

Can't wait to see more of your work and the Campaign contribution as I start working here in just a bit.

But first, I need to run out and get some film.

Hi. I'm always up for a Jeff campaign even with one month left. I have a Tamiya jeep I've been wanting to do as ww2 medic 44' winter style. I'll get pics soon.

I just used Photobucket's new version for the first time and it was a BREEZE and I loved it!

So, not too much progress to report as I am re-acquainting myself with things after a long absence, but I will persevere!

Broke out the JEEP kit and the next step was the body and the armor... most of it in PE.

Separated the main part from the sprue and sanded all the rough stuff off.

I used my PE bender for the first time!

And I loved it too!

So now to getting back to the plastic and attach the firewall and dashboard so I can get the hood and PE to fit.

I must finish this soon so I can work on that flak project.

You guys are making some good progress. Finally got mine going also. Put the chassis and running gear all together and started on the body. Next is the primer shop.

Hello friends.
Here is my build for jeep.
I have done a lot of work on this model and have been doing it about two years.
Now it is almost done and need to attache Archer dry transfers and 30cal. and 50cal. guns.
I used few Eduard and verlinden parts. And many things are done by mysel like seats.
For next jeep i will use Aber photoeche as it is the best detail set for jeep.

hope will enjoy.

Got most of it done this morning. TRying to figure out a scene. I'm thinking now maybe the standing figure will be a MP instead with a guy in the jeep with all that stolen Blackdog gear piled up. or something else as a medic scene..not sure... ideas welcomed

Hello Everyone,

Lot of great builds going on here, I haven't quite started mine yet, but I did decide to go with Tamiya's older offering of a SAS Jeep..

In a Semi-Related side issue, while working on my website I came up with a new idea, and since it is related to jeeps I thought I would post it here for some honest feedback on the idea. Feel Free to use the private message function if you wish, because I really would like to know what everyone thinks.

Here is a link to my idea and it does involve The Jeep.

thanks

Well while I cannot get your idea to work, if you are serious about entering this Campaign you must hurry!

We have only until May 1st this year and there will not be an extension either.
