Finished with the final base coat of paint on the hood and then put down some gloss for the decals to set. I've seen pictures of just basic JEEPS with some whitewash applied too, so if there's time I may apply that.
Next, the decals... then seal it.
I'll have some more pics next time guys as I am trying to work up a few 1/16 tanks for a battle next month.
Busy, busy, busy!
Hope I can finish this by the due date because then I need to jump in on a few more Campaigns!

I might get paint on this weekend...but no way am I going to finish by the deadline. I went to AMPS this past weekend so that kind of put a dent in the "free time".
oh well...such is life with a baby in the house! Ill still finish both and post pics here in the thread.

Okay, how many here need some more time?
Being that this WAS only a 6 month Campaign maybe we should extend it some since this ends next Wednesday.
So... a show of hands who needs more time?
(those that went to the AMPS show last week are excluded) Jest kiddin!

Like Jeff said, any extra time on this eats into the time for the next campaign. Yes, I fumbled around with trying to cast copies of my parts, so I'm not ready for painting at all yet. I have a busy weekend coming up here, so it would be a trick to finish by Wednesday for me.
Long story short...
Yes.

I'll send a request to the powerful and mighty... John.
I don't need it as I'll be done this weekend but hey, it's for fun and not a contest.
I don't want to see anything get wasted on 6 months of work!

Excellent news on the deadline, and excellent photo, Andy-- stretching the "looks like a Jeep" though. But then, who's looking at the Jeep?
I'll be done in time (I'm pretty sure...)

Here are my finished photos of the Dragon/Hasegawa 1/24 scale Jeep.
I think I overdid the mud splatter.
I enjoyed the campaign and all the great models. Will come back to see the rest of the finished models.

Well, the GPA shares many same components and within most WWII jeep discussions, the GPA is concidered a brother of sorts. Course you are right with the Looks like a jeep requirement of the campaign.
I have already done a USMC GPA, and plan on doing a north Africa US Army one. I thought this would make an interesting variation.
Plenty of true GPW and MB jeeps to do though!

Andy, You ever thought about using a DUKW instead? Lots more leg room there for them ladies to stretch out....a real 1950s/60s party wagon.

Started the decals... should make the deadline!
By the way, should the bumpers be the same color of the JEEP or flat black?

Hi guys. all those Jeeps are looking good.
I have had some trouble with mine. hurt my right wrist at work a bit and having a hard time last week, was ready to throw in the towel when I looked and saw the 2 week extension, so I am going to keep going..
managed to get some done today. my hairspray technique didn't seem to pan out all that great yet so I tried my had at the old salt chipping. still a ways to go.
I think I may have overreached here myself here trying to do a quick build, and yet wanting to 'improve' my build.

Here is the progress on my jeep. I suppose this vintage Monogram Kit was OK for its day. The model is almost complete. I'll be adding glass tonight along with the tire and gas can plus paint touch up.

Ooookaaay... we're getting there!
I found the kit a bit rough going, don't know if it's me or the kit. The main armor was a bit 'fiddly' and a strange fit. The chassis must be warped as it was a bit off attaching it to the body.
But when you start encountering 'issues' then you start with the shortcuts. Like I was going to add the windshield and have the glass partially broken. But I might still add some damage to the radiator armor... who knows.
I should be finished today!
