I know I should not have waited this long but just now finished the brass tread plate work that comes with the HB kit. A bit fiddly but if you have a good, sharp pair of square faced pliers you should not have any problems with the bends.
A word of advice: (maybe I should have figured this out for myself because the directions do not mention it!). Place the two most forward pieces of brass first. (Parts PE14 and PE17) Only then should you apply the side steps to the tool box and battery boxes. I did the opposite and ended up having to do a lot of filing to fit those two front pieces into the brass of the side steps!

What are you going to put on the trailer…a tank, bulldozer,…? Let us know when you get it, would like to see it!!!!

Can't wait for the trailer to get here. I will be posting photos as soon as it arrives. I plan to put the Mirror Models dozer (which I already have in my stash) on the trailer.
It's gonna be a while before I can get to that dozer, just thought I should warn everyone but I want to finish that trailer ASAP.

View from below of the now modified E-brake* assembly as now detailed out. (I think it will look better once painted.)
Photo above is a topside view of new E brake* crossmember and control linkage.
* Calling this assembly an emergency brake is actually a misnomer in that the TM lists this device as for "parking brake purposes only".

Got a fair amount of work done Sunday on the White. Here is tonight's status: July 5, 2015
Next I need to focus on that cab interior over the next few days! (Then I can finally get that windshield mounted.)
(p.s. That is the largest piece of treadplate I could find in my spares box to form the rear decking between the winch and the fifth wheel - seems about right.)
For all my US friends, I hope everyone had a good Fourth of July holiday, now it is back to work come Monday. :-(
Best Regards - Mike

Holding off on doing anything with that fifth wheel. I am waiting till the trailer comes in. I want that puppy to sit level when hitched to the White. Therefore I may have to modify the height of the tractor frame mount for the fifth wheel, either moving it higher or lower. (I suspect that right now it's way too high.)

OK, what would be the vote on adding the fenders? Y or N?
If I were just showing the tractor by itself I think I would pass on the fenders but under that big trailer they could be interesting.
Hi Michael!
No, no fenders on that, just like M26.
Cheers!

Wow, they molded most of the trailer as one piece. Pretty impressive.

Yes, I'm impressed. Only the goose neck is a separate casting!
For a relatively small trailer this model seems to be really BIG! Especially when hitched to the White tractor. For only a 20 tonner it makes quite a statement!
Also the wood grain of the decking is outstanding!

Looks like it also comes with another 5th wheel for you.

Well part of one anyway. It is just the contact disc without any supporting hardware.
I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps I need to substitute the contact disc from the P.S.P. kit for the after market disc that I am already using because it is much more detailed.
This will mean more scratch building though. I willl have to create the support structure for the fifth wheel but I think it would be worth it.

Started last night on the 20 ton trailer; 7-6-2015
Flash and molding line clean-up complete. Assembled the main load bed and then attached the goose neck to it. Also added some additional reinforcements using Evergreen 30 thou plastic strips to the underside.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Was more than a bit concerned about the forward vertical bulkhead on the model. The resin piece that comes in the kit was so thin, delicate and flimsy I felt sure once it was sandwiched forever between the trailer deck and the goose neck those delicate ears on each side were bound to end up cracked and broken off.
It occurred to me it would be easy enough to use the resin piece as a pattern and make a more durable substitute bulkhead from steyrne.
There were two very nice molded on safety reflectors that I was going to lose in this operation but I figured I could somehow make these back later on down the line.

Adding those reinforcing strips to the underside also turned those longitudinal bars into true I beams as they actually should be.

Looks like I will be adding an air tank to the underside of the 20 ton trailer. Interesting in that P.S.P. choose to include the spare tire and all the primary brake rigging under the trailer but omitted the air reservoir?
That's OK, I am sure I can knock one together.

Should I move the trailer build over into its' own thread?

Nah, just continue the blog and do it all together.

Spare tire stowed under the front deck - - - - - - - - - - - Rear trunnion axle wheel mounts installed.
p.s. It occurs to me that it would not be TOO hard to drill, cut and then pin those trunnion casting so they would actually work to give the rear suspension a little play and give. Oh well, just thinking out loud.
