It looks really good, I'll have to try this method next time. I always used thread before, and it never looked quite right. Thanks!

A thin gauge little lead or steel wire works great. I've been doing this for quite some time. If use an exacto knife or something with a flat edge and as you coil it over a larger wire or plastic rod, use it to push the coils together and then you can stretch it out to the desired length. Keep in mind that the longer your coil the harder it will be to get it off the rod, I found that out the hard way . Hope that helps.

It always helps. I have been on an armour and special forces kick lately, so I haven't built an infantry set with a radio for a while, but now I have some options to experiment with whenever I pick up another set.

Thats a very nice build you got there. It looks like it took you some time to put all of that together?

I am joining a little late; but, I should have something complete by September.
I am working on Dragon's 1/72 AAV7A1 with EAAK. With the exception of a Verlinden stowage kit it will be built out-of-box. I am still a beginner, so be merciful. It will also be my first use of an airbrush.
If I get a chance, I will post some WIP photos.

Great little vignette Jacob
Leverancier - one thing that has struck me about your awesome diorama is that all your US soldiers are white. I seem to recall reading somewhere that roughly 1/3 of the US military are black.

The make-up isn't that high. There are about 15% Black and 15% Hispanic Soldiers in the US Army. About the same for the other services as well. It is a reflection of the US population, which has roughly the same numbers of each ethnic group.

Great job on the M1! What did you use for the various glass parts?

Hey leverancier, you are coming along well. One critique: your figures have the wrong weapons. They all have 20 round magazines, where all M-16 series rifles use 30-round magazines in combat. If you want, I have some correct weapons that I could send you. PM and let me know.
Jeff
Not to nitpick, but your statement above isn't completely true. There are literally thousands of 20rd magazines still in use. When I was in Iraq in 03 and 04, my unit had a mix of 20rd and 30rd magazines. I carried 7 30rd magazines and had a bandoleer with 20rd magazines in my rucksack.
I will say that you will see far more 30rd magazines than you will 20rd magazines. The 20rd magazines being used are not typically being replaced in the units.

Here is my finished entry, the kit used was Italeri 1/35th M923A1 Big Foot 5ton truck. I was planning on using the CMK resin wheels but went onto using the kit supplied ones. You can check out the build details on page 4 of the thread.

Great LAV. Looks like it just debarked from the USS Tarawa! Congrats on a great build.
I have my two Hummvees built and primed awaiting paint. I got hung up by some disasters in the SF campaign. My not so destroyed tank has become a battlefield wreck if you catch my drift.
