hi steve-o
your bradley is from 2-7 inf, C cpy and as it has no chevrons its a
command bradley. the company was attached to TF 3-69 armor. So if you
are going to do a m1a1 with it you could use the tamiya m1a2 iraqi
freedom kit as it has 3-69 arm C cpy markings and was part of TF 3-69.
just a bit of info for you mate

YES!! If you wouldn't mind, an extra week would be great--I haven't had much time to put the finishing touches on my M113.
Thanks!

Here is my finished M113A3. It represents a vehicle from Task Force 1-64 during the initial invasion. I took this opportunity to experiment with my camera's settings, so the pictures look a little off color-wise (but they are close enough).

Nicely done M113 Lucas. The dust turned out nice. Especially on the stowage.
That Warrior is pretty cool too. Nice to see something British.
Good to see lot's of projects getting done. Congrats to everyone who made it.

Awe, drat!!!
Thanks for the info Mark! I just hate it when stuff is mis-identified, and now look what I did! I guess the caption on that photo I found was inaccurate...since I think the Tamiya instructions were the same as what you pointed out. that's what I get for trusting the internet.
...anyone know where I can find 1/35 7th ID shoulder patches??

hi steve-o
its not 7 inf div, its 3 inf div you are correct there.
all i was doing mate is saying exactly which vehicle it is, in 3 inf div.
3 inf div consists of
1 BDE
2-7 inf
3-7 inf
3-69 arm
2 BDE
1-64 arm
4-64 arm
3-15 inf
3 BDE
1-15 inf
1-30 inf
2-69 arm
each arm and inf unit then cross attach to make Task Forces (TF)
all the units have different numbering systems and i was just helping you identify it in case you wanted to name your dio.
sorry to cause any confusion mate

I was really happy with the Bradley. The figures, I want to get better at faces, and should replace the colored flags with the camo version.
Your Brad looks good. The colored flags are fine. I was in 3 ID during the invasion and that is what we deployed with. We never did get the subdued tan/brown flags while I was there. The figures came out pretty well, but they are not really accurate for OIF. Their gear is the older gear that was pretty much replaced by the time of OIF. The biggest thing is the old PAGST body armor vests. 3 ID drew new Interceptor Body Armor (IBA) before deploying to Kuwait in late '02, before the invasion. It is the body armor with all the loops on it to attach gear (as comes on the two figures in the Brad kit). Yes there were a few units that had PAGST vests, but they were not common. Also, rolled sleeves are big no-no in combat or when in the field. It is both for camo reasons and so you don't scratch up or burn your arms, etc.
For good modern figures in IBAs, go with resin ones by Verlinden, Warriors, Blast, Think 180, etc. In plastic, there are the Dragon Modern Marines. Trumpeter makes a few modern, IBA-clad figures as well, but they are not that good. For more options, you can take any of the older Dragon figures (like yours) and swap out their torsos with the IBA-clad ones from their newer set and have limitless options.

Correct me if im wrong Gino, but sleeves up is against regulations now in peacetime/garrison and in wartime.

You are correct. Especially with the ACU pattern uniform. Some who still wear the older BDUs or DCUs still roll them though. I personally never liked the sleeves up. It is actually cooler with them down.

I have just received the ribbon. Looks very cool.
Thanks for a good and well run campaign. There are so many cool entries it is difficult to take it all in at the same time.

Mark and Gino,
Thank you very much for the comments! Those are things I usually research the poo out of...but I didn't (obviously) on this one. I hope that the WWII subjects I normally cover are more accurate.
I've printed out your comments, and placed them with the dio. I'm sure I will update the dio. into a more accurate one in the near future.
Thanks again! (And Gino, thank you for your service! I'm glad that you are currently state-side!)

Actually I finished my Bradley, but didn't get the photos submitted in time. Lighting was bad on my first attempt. Is it possible to make a submission tomorrow (10/4) or too late? No bother either way. I'm just glad to have a finished model for once!

I built a 1/72 Revell of Germany M3A2 Bradley. The CIP panels are scratchbuilt, otherwise pretty much box stock. It may not be 100% accurate and need some gear and clutter to it. The weathering was a bit more than I hoped, but also an attempt to disguise the wrong desert sand color underneath. It was fun and I really like the modern kits.
This is my first armor kit in over 15 years. I've been building cars and trucks but nothing military in all that time. It's been a nice change. I actually have several more 1/72 projects going now!
