Jerry, been lurking on this build for a while, figured it was time I click "follow" and start posting! First, love everything about this! What you do with horses and real hair/filaments is just amazing. And I also appreciate the storytelling aspects of your builds, which in my opinion is critical to a successful diorama or vignette. Secondly, the dialogue in this thread around other forums, etc. is quite compelling. When I returned to this hobby in 2011 after a 12 year hiatus, I immediately found ML and was on it like crack. But like others have said, it's gotten very strange over there to say the least. There's amazing work still in the CC discussion group, but it's not really conducive to real dialogue and ideation. A lot of egos and stuff seem to get in the way as well. I did a blog on MilMod, and thought their forum was pretty decent. Good group of guys, active forum monitors, but not as much participation as I was hoping for. I started lurking more and more here because the overall vibe seemed more professional and down to earth. Anyway, I've been enjoying my time here, and it's threads like this that keep me engaged. So, thanks Jerry!

Thanks for joining the merry bunch of bandits on this thread first of all. I have been keenly following your build with the armoured car as you know.
I also had a long break from building and finishing and painting kits. I was in the resin airplane biz for about 10 years or so and only got to build master patterns so this is really making me play catch up to all the guys that have been taking advantage of these new cool products that are now available.

I never did like to get my work judged much. I have low enough self esteem and if some one doesn't like my stuff(even though this is completely subjective) I can get so down on myself I may stop building for weeks or months. Not whining,just keeping it real. Don't need any trophies. I do like seeing the models though and always love the vendors.

Sorry, that's just the way it is. All I know is, that both sites contains a Whole lot of knowledge, but the way this and other constructive critisism is passed on, is very different.

Agreed. Though I don't always comment, I love looking at the insane level of detail Jerry puts into all his work. I've hit a brick wall with my 1/35 stuff so I'm just enjoying painting 120mm figures until I get my mojo back. Seeing Jerry's work, along with the contributions of everyone else to the forum keeps me inspired and enthused. Keep it coming lads.

I exchanged emails with Romain on Monday. He's been in and out of the hospital lately. He said he's tired, but not too much more - like him! not a complainer.
I won't speculate beyond that. I write him; I think his treatments take up his time and energy - I also know we're all cheering for him

Hard to believe I started this almost exactly four years ago and have now passed the 100,000 hit mark.
I have not given up here but I must have discipline and finish my commission works.

Back to the real world. I decided to give these guys a try in the big dio as they will work and I do have a place for them.
I changed the wounded guy around though. The first app of putty is on so the conversion still is pretty rough but you get the idea.
So....have a look and see what you think.
I also wanted to add as a post script that Hornet is not going out of biz!!! Yahoo!!! I have it on very good authority that Mr Saunders will be stopping his full figure works but not the head sets. He has,in fact,several new sets underway now. I can't wait!
