Welcome aboard
If I can get the Dragon kit that is ( at a reasonable price

Otherwise it'll be a Maus or one of the new Lowe (Lion) kits

Cheers Paul

I'll crawl into this behemoth party with the Trumpeter E-100, methinks.

Wish I'd known about this a couple months ago. I just finished a Dragon E-100, I woulda waited. Good excuse to get back to the Ratte project though.

If my schedule opens up around the middle of the year I might jump in with a Maus or E-100.
Anyone know how the Dragon and Trumpy E-100s stack up against each other?

Hi Alex,
I´ve done both with at least 10 years between them.
1. Dragons Tracks are better
2. The Running gear is also from the Dragon kit better
3. Dragon use the maus turret, where as Trumpeter have
a cooler looking version.
4. Dragons kit also has the night fighting "Vampire"
equipment.
5. Dragons armour plate on the front hull is more believable
as it does not have a bend 3/4 of they up. No way would
that have been possible to that point in time, even now
it would be diffcult.
If I was going to build these two again I would get both
and stick Trumpeters turret on Dragons hull.
And instead of disregarding the Trumpy hull, I´d think about
adding a V1 to it, as a greatgrandfather for the mobile missile units
But that´s only my 2 cents

Thanks Paul.
I'm kind of weighing my options right now. I might be able to squeeze in a campaign around the middle of the year. I'll probably do something for the Jeep Campaign. Right now it's between this one and the Big Cats Campaign. Nothing is really jumping out at me for that one though.
I've got an old issue of FSM that has an article on a Maus build. The E-100 I really don't have anything to go on, so I figured I'd ask. I basically would be building OOB so it seems like the Dragon kit would be my best option. The Dragon kit also comes with a set of their night fighting infantry if I remember correctly. I can use their gear for another project I have going.
Anyway, thanks again.

The fun dont start untill the 1st of Feb next year and runs for 6 months, that will give you a bit of time to plan what you want to build
The Meng A39 Tortoise ,the Dragon T-28 E100 and Maus seem to be the favorites at the moment.
Dont worry about the noob bit,we all were once

Cheers

I might join in, thinking of building the Tiger II it just comes in at 76 tons Jagd is a tad heavier at 79 or the Lion since it has just been released.

My E100 ( I've changed my mind and it'll be a Trumpeter) is on the way, as is a Lowe
I couldn't resist adding the Lowe to the stash with that new release :-)
Cheers

Hi Trevor

The Tiger II is too lightweight for this campaign, but a
Panzerkampfwagen VII Löwe is Super Heavy

Come on and join the fun

The Löwe just might be my choice instead of the 105 mm Gun Motor Carriage T95, just depends on which one I can get a hold of first!
Thanks to DRAGON!
I've always thought the Löwe was a sweet AFV and could even be a Paper Panzer too!
Plenty of time and the new year to think about it too. Hmmmmmm....
