It's not often you hear the E75 called a girly weight...

This is my type of build then! I will see what I pull out of the cupboard first... These badboys are over due for some attention and I barely ever get the chance to build anymore!

Well, I finally got my kit for this campaign and surprisingly cheap for a local hobby shop

and I also got another M1A1 Aim kit.
For this campaign it will be Dragon's T-28.
Cheers Rob.

Well here is some progress I’ve made on the A39. I’m more or less just bouncing around on the build and not really following the directions. I’ve also started working on the suspension and boy are these a pain the butt to assemble. Not a big fan of working suspension parts considering the tracks have to be glued together. I’ll take some better pictures tomorrow along with some other progress I’m making.

First Dragon kit, here I come
Half the parts in the box don't get used

But there is still a lot of building to do
Here is some of my progress on the treads

400 of those U shaped pieces go on 8 pieces of tread
I am happy to report that all 8 are completed and primed and it appears that my problem with the primer was that I didn't shack it enough

a 2nd coat covered up most of the bad portions and the rest wont be seen

The turret is nearly finished. I still have to put the periscopes on the MG turret, pistol ports, mantlet cover, and lifting points. Time to focus on the chassis.

Paul-have fun with the E-100, I did mine last year then modified another into an APC.
On the T-28 kit
does anyone know if assembly "Y" goes on the hull or the outside track sections.
Building "d" & "y" which are different heights but while six "d"s get 12 locations "y" disappears from the instructions.

"Y" goes on the Hull the "D(D)x3" in step 2 should read "Y(Y)x3" according to the supplemental instructions that came with my kit
Hope that helps

Thanks Anthony, yeah there is a lot of plastic in the box but you will end up with a box full of plastic when you are finished too

As for the guide teeth I have no idea when I saw them I was like oh hell no

But they weren't to bad and I think the carpet monster only got like two
Come on and crack yours out this campaign still has plently of time

another sweet T28 build over there at
http://panzerserra.blogspot.com.br/search/label/T-28%20Super%20Heavy%20TankI wonder if a T28 would look alright with the cupola turret from a M-60?
Also how different in appearance will 105mm ammo for howitzers be from the ammo for GUNS of the same calibre?

I do understand that the Germans took existing barrel jigs and used them for other purposes. The 128 was a AA gun and designed it to be used for tank ordnance. So was the 105 and the 88. Though what held things were the two piece shells. To design and build the machinery to build such barrels was time consuming thus using already existing barrel sizes were expedient. Adopting them for a different purpose took planning though not as much as designing a whole new gun system. As for shells the head will be developed for its designed purpose it is the propellent casings that cause the headache. Most tank guns need a baffle to reduce the recoil for you only have so much room in a tank. As for the Yanks am not to sure, could have used the same logic. This sheds some light upon the subject yet creates more shadows.

Thanks Andy,
I touched up some spots and added some washes but in the follow up pics that I took it looks like something is missing

So I'm gonna leave it on the bench and stare at it for a few days before I take some more pictures

Looking good Sal, I can't wait to start mine, working on the Cold War campaign right now. The subtle weathering looks really good.
