Jeff, as long as you have some woodworking skills, lots of plywood and a small drain pipe you should be able to build it. Hell, you could put a small two-stroke engine it it and drive around the block if you wanted too.

Nice progress Jagdtiger46, I am very tempted to got back and fix my Maus one day. I had exactly the same issue with the warped top plate but being a kid at the time had no idea how to fix it!
The scale of the Maus/E100 is pretty insane. I have mine displayed on the same shelf as a Pz1 and it could crush it with one track
Yep, it's a monster, and I love it.

Jeff,
I'm currently in the same boat I just lost my SSD drive and I had some pics of the drive on the inside sprocket but it was not very clear and now it's gone.
Cheers Rob.
I didn't think it was possible to lose a solid state drive. As coincidence would have it, my computer just experienced a power supply failure about six weeks ago. A friend gave me a brand new 600W power supply, and that put me back in business, so to speak.

Been a busy day for this kid, hobby wise. Even though none of my photos show any, I decided to add some tools; "liberated" from a King Tiger kit.

I also chopped off the Russians head & re-positioned it better, so as to better reflect his caution while emerging from behind the vehicle.

Looking very good Kevin!
I too placed a new power supply in my sick PC and it powered up but the old one took out the board so I just retrieved some essentials and moved on.
I will find that link.

In this pic you can sort of make out the part I'm after info about. On the outside of the sprocket.
Cheers Rob.
Also this one, had this before just found it again.

Well,
Just noticed I have not posted any pics to the thread.
So here is my kit and some parts that have been cleaned up.
Cheers Rob.
Almost forgot, here is a link to a nice walk around and a 1/6 scale build.

I found this link:
http://www.weaponsofwwii.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=854
While doing a search, "Moving the T28 tank".
It is safe to click on the attachments AND because there are some interior shots plus the unique storage compartments that slide out to reveal the tools and other accessories.
also this: http://www.flickriver.com/photos/us_army_rolling_along/tags/t28/
I also read that the book Hunnicutt's book "Firepower" has all the pictures we need.
Okay... back to searching. Isn't that 1/6 build awesome or what? I told ya so.

Ok. So I have been doing some work, regardles of my social obligations. I have no friends now, but instead, some moderatly awesome tank.
Abyway. Assembly of hull is complete. Only left to do is to glue tools and stuff. But that will wait untill it's painted. Plus, I pretty much finished turret with infrared nightvision device. Added some wires according to some photos. Basically, It's ready for painting...
I was kinda expecting more challenge from this model...

Top job Zaaphod! The night vision looks very good the copper wire looms you have run look spot on. Was that night vision part of the kit in the box?
Think I might buy an after market night kit for the Jagd E-100 if it comes out how I want it.

Kevin, no they were not. They were thinking about sending them for the invasion of mainland Japan but that never happened. I think it was in '47 when the government ended all T28 work in favor of the T29 and T30 because they had turrets and were more agile (and had the same gun).
Of the two prototypes one was destroyed in an engine fire and sold as scrap. The second was supposed to be scraped but was found in a field years later on an Army base. It was restored and sent to Fort Knox but was moved a couple years ago.
Josip, the E-100 looks great.

Thanks for the info Chris.
As regards the Maus, I discovered that the road wheels are reversed on one side of the tank. I almost screwed this up, but caught it in time. The outermost road wheel is to the front of the right side, and to the rear on the left side.

Yes, it came in the box. There were some... inaccuracies, of course. I found some very nice aftermarket kits of this nightvision. Having time to wait for it to arrive and having money to build it... Well, some day.

Christopher,
Thanks, I have that, it is the inside sprocket I can't get a good shot of.
Cheers Rob.

Thanks Andy, I'm having a lot of fun with it; (been wanting to build it for a long time now). Road wheel set construction has commenced; 9 pieces per set, six sets per side, 108 pieces total, and every one of them full of ejector pin marks. I'll end up spraying them with a mud/dust mix that will hide all that nonsense.

I just noticed that I've got at least one of them on backwards, but wheel sets can just be pulled off and reversed.

My solution to dealing with the wheel assemblies is going to be to ignore the instructions that would have me build them as units, then attach to hull. Instead, I'll be adding the supports, letting dry, then adding wheel units last. I've also started adding weld beads of stretched sprue where needed.

Really coming along guys. Thanks for those links to the T28 those pictures are great. I believe the T-28 was found on Fort Knox. That was a prime site for testing armored vehicles. You would not believe the stuff you can find on an Army post. I remeber seeing a 5inch gun turret from a destroyer down range. F-100 fuselages on Fort Dix,an M5 light tank in a field in camp Shelby Missisippi. Anyway I'll be starting my T-28 soon.

This is odd; Dragon gives the rear track guard brackets, but no track guards? In my very limited references (five books on the Maus that any one of which has most of the photos from the other four), many photos show the rear guards in place, though others do not. I may have a go at scratching at least one of the guards, still not sure yet.
