Fantastic builds so far guys,
CmdrCody Can't wait to see you Maus come together, looks like you have every addon and mod kit invented!!
CameronForester, A scratch built KV4!! Wow, I wish I had those skills. What is the product that you use for the turret armor? I can only find really thin sheets of the white plastic locally and it is hella $$$.
Sal, T28 has really come together with the weathering. It is amazing the difference it is has made. Before it was so clean and I wasn't sure how the end would look. Now it looks REAL! Great job.
I can't build to your standards but I can have a crack at the campaign!

DazzaD, I used a combination of .080", .040", and .020" Evergreen styrene sheet to build the turret and grafted in the turret ring from the kit turret. I seem to recall that Evergreen styrene sheets went up in price not too long ago. What I'm using is part of what I've stockpiled for my eventual flying leap into insanity, a 1/35 P.1000 Ratte and 1/35 P.1500 Monster.

Hey Guys,
Does anyone have a picture or drawing of how the outer run of tracks is driven on the T-28?
I was looking at some PE sets and the Voyager one has it but the ET set has really nice cranes and does not have it and I don't want to get both.
Cheers Rob.

Cheers guys, will defiantly have fun doing it. I don't get the chance to build much so it will probably happen fast!
Thanks for the info Cameron, I saw some paper thin stuff in the local hobby shop picked it up... saw the price and put it back! If I can find some stuff as thick as you used I might give in and get it. I want to build an E series hybrid, E79 style.
Well hull built and rusty undercoat down.

Torchy, if you are into 'What If's' This is a great one.
The model is very simple to build which was a bit of a downer (no challenge). I guess having the stomping great big super structure as one part doesn't leave much left to do. On the up side, the thing looks very impressive. It would crush the $#!@ out of the pz1 and pz2 I have next to it and makes the Maus look soft
Anyway I got the pigment layers done... Trying something new.
A Purple layer first
A nice rust layer next

Hey Beefy, welcome to the build! Is the A39 model as good as the packaging? They certainly go all out on that don't they, looks impressive before you open the box

I was getting worried that my last post was so bad it killed the campaign!

I have got a little done on the beast since last time. I am going for a very old, worn, rusty look but not knocked out. It was in the fight, then left in the fields to rust for 60 years.
I hope it all pays off but I will not know until I let it dry and knock it all off! Once it is all done, only about 1/2 - 2/3 of this paint will be left behind.

It's really not a modeling contest here. You should see ALL of my work! Talk about "Gate Guards"!

My builds wouldn't hold candle to most of everyone's work, but I still show pictures of them just the same.
So, join. You just might learn a thing or two.

Very well then, I'm in.
Hope I will finish in time, with my compulsive drinking (yes, I am going even now, straight from work) and a small kid of flatmates of mine poking around...

Ok, here is pretty much everything I got so far. Suspension, little work on upper deck and some random poking around on turret. I am trying to make it look used, so I added scratch from bouncing shell here and there... Also, touching some seams with cement putty.

Sorry lads, don't want to get you all in trouble with the boss
So I knocked off the salt, rust and top layer of paint. I am still not sure if it has worked! I thought I would knock it all off and say 'YES nailed it!' or 'NOPE, start again!' but I am still 50/50. I think if I put it all together with the tracks and then weather it it might come out about right.

Anything I should know about it before it arrives? Pretty easy build and no problems?

http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/dml/kit_dml_6750.shtml#.UV85AFeJs0MBasically, DML got the deminsions wrong and it's off by a full fifteen scale inches; And people have been complaining about how tedious the tracks and suspension are.
What cheek! Let them have it!

Thanks but if that is all then I have no worries. I have built so many HVSS units and on the Sherman Campaign (another one of mine) I learned how to wrangle those DS tracks.
Cool!
