Thanks Mike!

Here is some progres, I,ve manage to put the main gun on the Tam mantlet. I was affraid it would not work since I had some bad feed back about this kit. And it was indeed just a bag with a barrel and pe pieces...no instructions.
But it went straight forward: I did my own plan!
First I`ve assembled the tam main gun and once it was cured I cutted the cannon flush with the mantlet. Center pointed it and drilled a hole in it. And voila... pretty easy.

The pe straps were somewhat poor fitting(lenghtwise) I must admit my pe roller kit was more than welcomed there
In the end it worked mostly well and since the turret is inacurate I did not want to get a high priced cannon.

Here is the money shot:

Thanks for watching.

I think I may keep a couple of the nicest pe for another build with a more acurate turret....I'll probably put it on but... you know

Hey peeps John posted this link on the cold war camp
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8G_tKBwh3KQ

check out the 2:20 period.

Do I see an extra armor turret with early road wheels?
seeing this it seem possible to build an accurate tamiya kit...yes?

Thanks for sharing this inteesting video Phil.

Looking for references I've found the original one

http://vimeo.com/38256839

according to the video, Tamiya wheels look right

I've also found another interesting video made by the "opponents"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ6QNWo6M0g&feature=player_embedded

PS I have that Russian made tanker headdress... I bought it in Berlin in 1990

It would be great...but considering that you can't really hear any sounds when you're wearing it, I could miss a lot of phone calls...

...oh well...after all, it wouldn't be so bad

Haha I would love to see that!

Here is some progres on the turret.

Still, those t-72 had no smoke grenades luncher on the turret...seeing that should I go this way or continue with just the wrong type of turret and just enjoy my learning curve?

I got soooo much better with CA thanks to this build and all the tips you guys gave me. I now use a mix of Gary`s pin needle and Mauro guitar string loop: A tiny seringe tip. The ca get into the point and discharge by capilar action when it touche the edge of the PE piece.

Thanks for watching

Mike, I`ve not been a member for that long either but, posting my builds here gave me the feedback to improve greatly at a fast pace. All the guys here have all the tips and tools of the trade to give the learning curve some rocket fuel I`d love to see your bt-72
To post it is prtty simple, just click on the new topic tab and follow the instruction, for myself I use the kitmaker gallery for pics it is simple and effective.
I was building for myself too(still am) but sharing it gave it spice and gave me the oportunity to meet some great friends from around the world...How`s that for rewarding!?

Best regards
Phil.

Hey Brother Phil,

The PE looks great on the turret bro! Your T-72 is gonna be a stunner for sure Phil.

Hello Mike, your gonna get what ya want from armorama my man. Dont be afraid to show your works and finished builds, and never hesitate to post questions to anyone ya want or any forum ya need. Phil is correct...you can ease and quicken your learning curve ALOT from spending time here. It worked for me aswell!

Gary

Edit: Hey Phil i just thought of somethin'! When i use my needle applicator for CA glue and PE, im useing Medium and thick type CA glue. Dont know why that just popped in to my noggin....but it did!

Tamiya`s parts was a tad too big on one extremity so I`ve made new ones to look more up to scale and so it would fit the pe parts. The original arts where exceding a lot from the pe and I wanted to look like that:

http://dishmodels.ru/wshow.htm?mode=P&vmode=T&p=2459&id=118352&tp=w

This snorkel will take more time than I tought...But isn`t it what the hobby is about!?

Thanks for watching and comments.
