I'll post pics soon.
Just a quick post to say that so far the fit on this kit has been perfect... and I mean PERFECT. I've so far done 2 Dragon kits and an AFV Club and had fit issues with all of them, but this is going together like a dream. Being a B1 Bis there isn't a lot out there to compare it to I know, but I'm VERY impressed.

Andy,
The campaign doesn't start until January! I don't think you're supposed to start your build until then.

Thanks for the advice Michael
Will I be up for court-martial?
The fact is, I've just come off the back of two german builds. One of them was for the Panzers Return Campaign, but the paint went a little wrong and I stripped it back to start again. Needless to say I have to re-do the etch etc, but I've temporarily fallen out of love with it after this huge step back.
I just wanted to do something other than german subjects, but the only thing I have in the stash was this B1 Bis. So it's either start now or twiddle my thumbs until 1/1/14 which seems a little ridiculous.
I suppose I could always store my photos and then submit the fastest build ever!

Andy, the campaign doesn't start until January as has been pointed out by Michael and in the campaign rules. By all means carry on building but you won't however qualify for a campaign ribbon. The campaign runs for 12 months to give people plenty of time to complete their build and campaigns have to be submitted with a buffer zone timewise which means that people can do their research and decide what they're going to build prior to the start date. The rest of us are waiting as per the rules. Shame you feel that the rules don't apply to you.

Oh! I hadn't realised disregarding an arbitrary date would cause such offence. It could just have easily been a 1st October start date and everyone would still have had the same time to research and decide. I just wanted something to be getting on with and this is the only thing I fancied doing. Oh well, no campaign ribbon

Hi Karl, I got mine directly from the Tiger Model Design Website http://www.newtmd.com/
Things took a little while to arrive but all was fine and I got my shipment without any worries.
Cheers

Well, since people seem to be declaring... I've got a number of German and French possibilities but I don't see this one built too often, so this is what I'm thinking of doing for the campaign:
I like the look of the kit and it seems within my range of ability! Still, not time to start yet, I could change my mind...

Talk about "Timely"!
As posted elsewhere on Armorama (in the Armor forum) and on other sites, Meng is coming out with the French Char 2C!
An odd, rare but huge player on the French team during "Fall Gelb"! It would certainly fit right into this flurry - now if only some appear on shelves or e-sites for to be bought and built in time to participate in this shindig!
I still have some time to dither around before we launch towards the Channel... decisions, decisions!
Bob

I may even finish my Pz4 B conversion. Many years ago tony Greenland did post his how to on fsm. Made a copy started to build it and now it is hiding in the closet of shame.

Looks as though my B1 Bis won't attract a ribbon. (Going extremely well by the way).
Can I get in with a Char 2c? Fancy the Meng Golliath for Crimbo

I'm going for the Tristar PzIV D. Picked one up cheap off e-bay which I've cunningly sold to my mom (amongst other bits I've won) to give to me for Xmas. Charged her what I paid and said a) I get what I want (b)she gets a bargain...lol. She saw my logic

Bruce I'd not even thought about planes but I see no reason why not. Four weeks to go chaps! Can't wait to get started. The diorama I'm planning has changed yet again and got bigger. Since I'm newly single I'm going to make a coffee table out of it as SWMBO is history..lol. She never understood my models anyway...lol. Roll on 01/01/2014 and all systems go!
