The store I was buying the correct interior at could not complete my order, due to lack of stock. Their fault and they waited three weeks to tell me. This particular item is like trying to find chicken teeth.

Joseph-
Very nice - that's a lot of detail for 1/72!
Thanks Kevin. This is a Maco model. I was pleasantly surprised to see so much detail as well. I'm glad I bought two of these because I'd like to model another variation of the shields.

That looks like a lot of wheely small parts
I've never had a kit that had separate tires for the road wheels, but I like the idea. Must greatly simplify painting.

The separate tires for those CyberHobby / Dragon Pz IV sounded like a good idea when I first met them in a kit... but the tires are a snug fit onto the rims even when unpainted... and if you get paint on the rim surface and / or inside the tire, it gets very tight and you can bust the tire trying to put it onto the painted rim. Been there, done that.
Lots of wheels are a IV thing... Isn't this why we all wanted to have this thread, anyway?
Speaking of which... I'm thinking of either a Dragon Jagdpanzer IV L/70 (V) DRA6397 or the Dragon Brumbar mid w/zimm DRA6500...
Anyone have any opinions about either of these kits?
Bob

I found that if you shave the back edge of the tire by running a blade around the inside (think bevel), the fit improves dramatically and takes all of 5 seconds per tire. I think the problem is that the hub has a taper so that the front fits nicely but as you push, then you run into trouble.

I've done the Brumbar and it's a nice kit.

Most of the big bits are together now. The only fit issue is where the front glacis plate meets the lower hull. A gap of about 1/2mm and how the turret rests on the turret ring.
now on to all the add-on bits, tools and the like.
Because the tires and wheel rims are separate and the fit tight I just slid the tires on some rolled paper to keep the insides paint free and see if that helps later on.

First I want to apologize for the last post - I had intended for it to appear in this thread but I pressed "new thread" instead of "reply" - I'll try not to have this happen again!
Moving on to the upper hull I rebuilt the left front fender to portray battle damage (snapping the fender off in the process) and added several rivets and fastening strips. The headlamp provided in the kit comes molded to the fender and lacks the small space at the base of the lamp - I sawed it off and replaced it with one from my spares box.
Then built up the other structures on the front hull - had to fill in two notches on the front edge with putty - not sure why they were there in the first place (the directions do show them so it was not just a defect in my kit).
Because weld lines are not molded onto the upper hull I tried to create my own by gluing thin plastic strips to the hull and scoring with the tip of an X-acto knife - hopefully they will look convincing once I paint it.
On the left side of the hull I discarded the two sides of the box for the two spare wheels as they were of an incorrect shape and too thick. I replaced them with scratchbuilt ones.
Also added the small retaining clip ends for the ventilator covers to the upper rear hull sides:
Moving to the right side, there are two brackets with two long horizontal bars suspended between them. The bars were threaded through the holes in the track links and suspended them from the bars. Here are two views of this part, shown without and with track links:
I discarded the brackets provided in the kit as they were molded as a solid piece of plastic. Naturally, I then scratchbuilt two of my own. I attempted to replicate the steel bars by cutting and gluing individual pieces of plastic rod between each link. This was a very tedious process.
On to the rear hull. I added a bunch of rivets and a PE reflector (not included in the kit - I had one left over from my previous panzer IV build) to the left rear fender.
The twin exhaust pipes came from the kit but were indicated not for use - a smaller pair are indicated in the directions but should not be used. I had to lengthen the baseplate for each pipe with plastic sheet:
The two L-shaped brackets supplied in the kit (located on either end of the upper rear hull) are oversized and I replaced them with smaller ones from my spares box. I scratchbult the three hooks hanging off the top of the rear deck with plastic strip:
I also scratchbuilt the two handles on top of the rear deck because only one was provided in the kit and it was far too thick for an accurate appearance, in my opinion.
That finishes this update. Hope to have another one up soon. Thanks for watching!

Hey - that tank on the screen looks familiar - where have I seen it before?
Good luck on your build.

Some nice builds going on here! Finally got back to my Mobelwagen, ready for paint at last. I have added some detail to this old Tamiya kit with some Aber PE, scratched some brackets for the spare tracks mounted on the front glacis, handles for the pistol ports and hooks for the side armour plates, then hit the road wheels with a fine saw to nick them up to show wear. Not too happy with the mesh for the cartridge catcher, they just provide fiberglass screen, doesn't look very convincing so I may go back and re-do it. Just don't want to wait to order in PE mesh though....
