Benjamin,
Your mud and rust effects look great. One tiny detail I noticed is that you've got some soot showing on the back of the tank (not over-done, which is good), but the inside of the exhaust is still rust color--should be black. Maybe even add a bit of black just around the outside of the end of the exhaust.

Yep, good spot... I've also noticed that the inner side of the schurzen plates are too clean as well.

Funny thing about photos--they show us stuff we don't see looking straight at the thing in real life.

I realized that the interior is wrong. It may be a month, before I can get the correct one in.

John: It was not correct, for a IV D. I have ordered the correct driver's compartment. This, with the kit parts should allow me to continue work.

Actually, I got some work done on the turret bin. Will post some photos, once I have a little scratch build done.

Update. My Jagdpanzer IV build is more or less done. Everything's constructed but I haven't glued it all together yet. Need to paint the tracks and fit/paint a couple figures.
This was a hell of a project. Did it turn out perfectly? No. Am I happy with the way it turned out considering this is the first real PE project I've tried to tackle? Yep.
The griffon kits were pretty solid. Instructions were decent, but some if their drawings, particularly the ones that illustrate bend angles, reach Escher-esque proportions. I broke a few pieces by bending them the wrong way then trying to correct my error. Measure twice, bend once. :/
Anyway, here we are. Now to irreparably botch the paint job!
P.S. With all that metal, this build is heavy.

Nice looking collection Matt. I have a set of star decals for mine, but I am going for a syrian Panzer IV. Look forward to seeing yours take shape.
Chuck that a fair bit of etch on that Jag.

Thanks, Pete. Already I've found an irritation. The drive sprockets are way to wide for the Friul tracks to fit.
Oh well, I'll just have to use the rubber band tracks that Tamiya provides...
cheers

Matthew,
That appears to be common problem with trying to use Friul tracks on Tamiya kits, as the Tamiya sprockets are generally beefed up to allow the kit to be motorized. I certainly had that issue with the Flakpanzer I just finished--had to go get the Friul sprockets, which for some reason are sold seperately from the tracks (unlike, for example, the SAM-6 tracks, which include sprockets). I personally have a serious dislike for vinyl tracks, and recommend getting the Friul sprockets.

Matt, you could also order a set of Kaizen tracks like Phill and I did, they fit the Tamiya sprockets just fine (unless it's a REALLY old kit. Check out page 9 of this thread.

Northern_Lad: Those kit tracks are horrid. I really enjoyed building that one, some years ago. I look forward to seeing it done right.

Camo is on along with a coat of Pledge where the decals will go:
Still need to add an overspray of the dark yellow again to blend everything...

So I ordered a set of the Kaizen tracks last Friday off of eBay. Thanks for the advice, Colin.

Well, the fork keeps coming out clean so I guess this one is done.
Overall, this was a very nice kit, although the instructions were a hot mess in several places--Wouldn't be DML otherwise, would it?
