Pawel,
very impressive. Especially like the way you did the wood planking on top!

Greetings,
I haven't posted since my pre-build photo in November. I became ill early last year and the treatment was as bad as the illness. I've finally started feeling better and enjoying my time at the bench. Here are some long overdue progress photos.
More to follow...
Cheers,
Firstsergeant

I'm seeing some really good work and great builds here. Guy - nice job on the Flakpanzer. John - your ausf. F/G is coming along nicely. Pawel - you have a masterpiece in the making there! And Daniel - nice detailing. Here's my contribution for this week - another Pz. Beob. update.
Now it's time to paint the hull - used Lifecolors Olivgrun and Rotbraun:
Then weathered with Raw Sienna (blend and fade the colors), chipping with Raw Umber mixed with a small amount of white and washed with raw umber:
Then painted the rear hull. The exhaust pipes were first painted with dark rotbraun and then drybrushed with a rusty orange color and black at the top edges:
The tubular rear convoy light was painted with a mixture of 2/3 Testors Fluorescent Blue (to simulate glass) and 1/3 flat black:
Moving to the front, I detailed the inside of the driver's hatch by removing the molded-on sliding bolt and replacing it with a scratch-built one:
After painting I glued it to the hull along with the MG:
I also added a bullet hole to the left front fender! (I have a picture of this on a real tank)
And that's it for this update - one more to go and the tank will be finished! Here's two final shots:
Thanks for following.

Wow some really nice builds here! I like your pzkpfw iv John looks really clean. We're basicly building the same model just my kit is a few years older..
.. So back on page 12 I said I wanted to build a Mr Hobby (Gunze Sangyo) pzkpfw IV f(f2) circa2003 (some old Dragon kits are reboxed Gunze Sangyo). Well I finally got around to starting it.
Proof of life:
Step 2, I skipped step one as it is the road wheels and I had no tracks for this tank yet. I thought I would include step pics so those of you that have been around a while can reminisce about how dragon kits used to be..
step 3 This kit is a bit old but in really good condition, however a few of the parts seem a bit brittle and the tub is a little warped.
step 5
step 7
Finally got around to ordering some tracks last Thursday afternoon and they arrived today (mondsy). I highly recommend Hard Target Models. Their prices are reasonable and they put the order out quickly, also they are in Kansas, USA.
So there you have it. I'm pretty much building it OOB, just a few minor modifications to correct the model for the time period I want.
Which is: In early 1942 several Pzkpfw IV's were ordered with the kwk 40/L43 long gun instead of the currently used short gun. The first ones were F chassis' which were already under construction and there apparently was a document which referred to them as being an f2. In June 1942 they changed the model to "G" and backdated that change to include all of the long barreled panzer IV's. So I'm building a very early pzkpfw IV G.
Hopefully I will have the build done by the end of this week. Then will come the part I'm not as confident about. The painting.

I know I'm late to the party but I've just had a Stug IV delivered by the postman that I won on ebay the other day so I thought I may as well join. Once I've started I'll stick some pics up.

Some lovely builds in this campaign. Hope I can get near to a decent build. Made a start today. Ive never used photo etched zimmerit before and was pleasantly surprised at how easily it goes on. Was a bit trial and error but it comes off easily enough if you run a number 11 down the back of it lol. Heres where I'm up to
Used some green putty to fill in areas where there were gaps. I gave it a light coat of dunkel gelb to help me spot them and then scraped the excess off
Going to carry on tomorrow. It's too hot to go outside so I'll spend my time modelling instead

To One and All,
Well time is short, but I can finally get some modelling done, so I am entering with the Revell (Matchbox) Jagdpanzer IV kit in 1/76 scale.
I have always liked these kits since they have a little diorama display base. A welcome change of pace from the highly detailed 1/35 builds I usually do. I have a few days off this weekend, so I hope to have some progress shots on Monday.
Thanks,
Stephen
