I lightened this one up some.

Liking the look. Don't forget to paint the tracks on the front glacis and on the side of the hull.

Thank you sir!

Yes sir, I still have some details to paint. I need to hurry up and do them this evening because I'm ready to weather this beast! Lol

Cheers,
Dustin

Dustin, can you double check on the instructions. The orientation of the tracks doesn't seem right to me. Cheers, Tat

Good eye, Tat! I just tossed them on for a quick picture. Lol

Tat, you did say I can mix Tamiya matte clear with future and still achieve a matte finish?

Good to hear on that!

Go look for Tamiya X21 Flat Base and make sure its the acrylic one.

Cheers,

Tat

Clear and decals on. I'll probably spray another coat of clear just to make sure I didn't miss any spots before I start the weathering.

A coat of clear has already been sprayed over the decals.

Dustin

Coming along nicely. Looks like there are no problems with the clear so far.

What color did you use on the muffler. It looks brown to me but it may just be the lighting and the angle.

I used MIG Dark Tracks, it looks really good but the gloss makes it seem weird. I just used it as a base color for the rust really. It'll give it that dark rust color, and then when I use the AK rust effects it should really stand out. I hope anyways. Lol

Here is a good pic of it before clear. It's actually a mix I mixes up of MIG dark tracks and MIG rusty tracks

It looks like you painted the edges of the return rollers black/dark grey to simulate rubber. On this particular model, the return rollers were steel with no rubber. Not a difficult fix, just hit them again with the AB or just carefully brush paint the edges. Weathering will help to blend things together so your "repair" won't be noticeable.

Thank you Armorsmith and Todd,

Armorsmith, on the return rollers, I painted them black, and then after the matte clear I was going to go over them with a lead pencil to replicate the worn steel color. Do the edges not get worn? If not I'll touch them up.

Cheers,
Dustin

The edges can be worn. Not typically bright all the time, but it makes for some nice contrast. If you do it before dusting, they will tone down nicely!

OK sorry. What you did makes sense, and yes the edges do get worn also. Carry on!

The clear coat looks good. I think the plan for the muffler rust sounds like it should work out.
