Thanks Dustin! I'm looking forward to this build. Tigers are one of my favorite tanks of ww2. Fujimi does a nice job on the product. I do like how they also added some single tacks. I do have one issue on the instructions. Its calling for 2 of the same parts but there's only 1 part on the spure. When I get home from work, ill post the issue with a pic. Hopefully someone on this site builded this model and can answer my question.
@Tom..I like how you formed your tracks. Im going to look into the Hobbytrax tool.

Long time modeller. Starting when I was a teenager, then I found out about girls and college and work and kids. But now that I have one girl, no school, no work and the kids are grown, I'm back to full time modelling. My prime area of interest is armor, b

@Tom, Very impressive King Tiger you have there, Excellent Job!!
Here is my issue with this Kit
In step 2 part No. B28 its asking for 2 parts. On the sprue it only has 1 B28. Has anyone builded this kit? Did you have the same issue? Did you make a scratch part or just didn't install part?

That looks great, Tom, worthy of a Show!

If it's not much more than a flat narrow piece with little detail, I would probably just try to scratch it. Being behind the running gear plus any weathering should be enough to make it passable.

What about part B27, looks the same in the photo, maybe a typo?

Good idea. Is B27 called for anywhere?

@Shell and Clay..Thanks for your comments! For the tank hunter campaign. I'm building a 72nd scale jagdtiger by trumpeter and it had a typo. So i thought fujimi did the samething. BUT B27 is the part that sits below the driver view port.
After some thought, I'm just not going to add it. It won't show and it's a 72nd scale.

I have been working on the Dragon Jagdpanther early model over the last week or so. It is very nicely detailed and made of a good quality plastic that is easy to work with. I never paid much attention to plastic quality in the past but now I'm also building the Zvezda T-35, a very nice kit in most respects but made of a soft grainy plastic that does not sand well. Here is a pic of the two kits lined up to see the difference in size:
The Jagdpanther has all sorts of details that will never be seen unless a lot of scratch building is done on the interior. Why detail those torsion bars? It looks great and was fun to build so I don'y mind but I am puzzled.
I am a little ticked at the incomplete and WRONG instructions. The sheet is riddled with errors and omissions. One example of the latter is the tow cables which are included in the kit but not mentioned in the instructions. Even worse, the instructions call for the WRONG parts in a number of places. One that mattered and that I only caught after it was too late was the superstructure roof. The instructions call for N5. I got that roof off the sprue and started building it. Part way along I noticed the drawing did not match the part. On further investigation it turned out that the proper roof was on the M sprue. I checked references and found that all examples and drawings showed the one on the M sprue. Arrrgh!
The only difference is the location of one of the ventilators and I decided to live with it rather than try to unglue the parts from the incorrect roof. Here is a pic of the two roofs:
I understand that errors will always be a part of life but why so many in so many of these modern kits? Do they not have builders actually construct test shots of the kits & instructions?
Is there a spot on Armorama named something like "Kit Notes" where builders can post corrections and explanations that the kits leave out? I would love to share what I have learned the hard way and profit by the experience of others. Another great use would be to explain the options which are only listed as options with no explanation as to why the builder should opt for this over that. We have a lot of knowledgeable folks here who could greatly ease the building process by sharing the "Word."

Test fitting some of the kit components together showed a serious case of barrel droop:
I added some plastic Viagra to the underside of that cursed roof to act as a droop limiter:
Now the barrel looks happier!
This project has gone as far as it can go until the ATAK zim kit arrives:

Just over a month... off we go! Going for a little big cat, the Leopard 2 in Swedish service. Got somewhat carried away and put the hull tub together before remembering to take a photo, but oh well.
Fits decent so far, upper hull plate not perfect, suspension arms likewise not as positively locked into their proper places as they should. Good amount of sink marks on the arms as well, but luckily the wheels cover that.
Tracks are no-links-just-length, to be bent into shape with hot water. Make sit an easy choice whether to glue to wheels in at this stage at least.
