Irvin - Will you paint the vehicle as it is or remove bits to be detailed separately?

The ATAK zim FINALLY arrived after being in the mail from Poland for a solid month. It does look very nice but the instructions are breezy in the extreme. There are no call outs for what goes where. Some bits are obvious, others are not so easily pegged. Another odd thing is that the complete rear bulkhead & tool boxes cast in resin were missing from the kit. At this point with time short I'll use the kit part & add the zim. It will look great but still ya gotta wonder about major missing parts in an AM kit that cost as much as the Dragon Jagdpanther kit did. I'll give the zim a whorl tonight on a small hard to see part & see how it comes out. Pics later!

Plodding along. Getting the barrel and mantlet assembly to fit into the turret took a bit of chopping, and bending the tracks into shape wasn't the smoothest process either. Otherwise the build went ok. And my thanks to whoever in the Swedish army decided on large, blocky shapes for the camo, masking anything fiddlier at this scale would have been a nightmare. A touch of flash here and there, but not too bad, and plenty of sink marks where they won't be seen or matter.

And done.

First time I've been fiddling around with airbrush shading. More practice needed, but could have worse.

On this one I'm going to paint them onboard. I usually paint them seperate then glue them on. But I used the outlines that I filled with green putty as a guide. I would have lost them under the finish paint.

I finally got some on the bench - maybe the approaching deadline played a part in in

I'm trying to finish it in the colors of the 1st SS in 44 pre-Normandy. I didn't achieve the exact finish I was planing to get but this was the best I could d with my limited airbrush skills. Looks like I need more practice.

Next would be painting the tools and the rubber on the road wheels

Thanks for looking

Lap Man, I'm with the others, that Tiger looks great.

I'm still puddling along with my Jagdpanther. The ATAK zim is on and I'm glad that trial is over. Nothing fit and you can't move holes to correct things so this zim will be a bit of a patchwork. Next time I'll just lay out for the kit with it molded on . . .

Photos coming soon, I promise!

Hey fellas! We have 11 days left to get all those builds finished up. Let's get them knocked out for a strong finish.

Cheers

Nice builds all. Love the camo Lap Man!

I've applied a flat coat on my Tigers last night. A few more touch ups and it should be ready by the close date.

WOW!! These tanks look amazing Gents!! Hope my Tiger is in the same ball park as these tanks.

Work and weather (northern California) been crazy the past couple of weeks. But I still managed to get some progress done on my 72nd scale Tiger.

As you can see in the pictures. I still need to sand and install a few more parts. I started to paint the road wheels and the lower hull. This is where I'm at this moment. I don't have that much left....
