Thanks for comments guys. Build now finished, very straightforward, didn't feel 500+!

Vladimir - looking great, interior detail on the cab is stunning!

Really nice! I guess, the tracks were about half the overall part count.

My rendition of PLA three colour camo put on yesterday afternoon, needs post shading and fading, which I'll try to do over the next couple of days.

Superb camo work! That's been done freehand, right?

Thanks Christian! Yes camo sprayed freehand using Sparmax max-3 w/ 0.3mm nozzle. A top down shot:

Just realised I forgot to do the barrel of the main gun!

Ok. Update. This truck is killing me. Not only that it feels like it is 500+ parts, but I have no idea how to paint it. AFV plan says this.

But, when you look at the pictures, it is only one color.

Now... I use a lot site called ALGORITHMIA, which is instantly painting black and white photos. Some times it mess things up, but usually it gives me some idea of how things look.

So, if I presume that Famo in the back is RAL 8020, which is correct color for time period in Tunisia, what is the color on my truck!? It looks like RAL 8000 but I don' know if they ever use it without 7008. That is my dilemma, any ideas are welcome.

Great progress, Vladimir!

Sorry, I'm not much help on the colors... Are there other kits of the same vehicle? Can you "borrow" the colors from there?

It depends on the delivery date of the vehicle you want to depict.

On 17 March 1941, there was an order to paint all vehicles in North Africa Gelbbraun RAL 8000, with one-third of the vehicle covered by Graugrün RAL 7008s. On 25 March 1942, Gelbbraun and Graugrün were replaced by Braun RAL 8020 and Grau RAL 7027.

However, in many cases there were insufficient paint stocks for the 1/3rd cover and many were left in just the base colour. Even vehicles shipped to Africa more often than not, were just the one colour.

Paint it as you want to, and let the rivet counters sort it it out later...

Thanks for replaying, Cristian. IBG make some, but not with crane. And, since this is only photographed Bussing-nag 4500 with bilstein crane in Tunisia, and since I am doing only WW2 vehicles in Africa, this is the one, no meter how it looks at the and.

Hahahaha, Peter, you are totally right. That is why I like so much this campaign idea. Everybody are suportive, it is all about "building" models, not competing. Enyway, I see my self as experienced amateur and my modeling philosophy is - quantity has a quality of its own. So, I will go for dirty RAL 8000 and you will be to blame. Thanks.

Peter,.... you will be to blame. Thanks.

I have a very resoponsible job. Anytime anyone has an issue, I'm Responsible.

Your group build philosophy is spot on. I have always said that people can model what they like how they like it. It is the joy in seeing a piece come together that has most meaning. No matter what your skill set, whether you add detail or do it out of the box, paint clean, make it dirty, covered in stowage or whatever, as long as you are happy and we all get to be a prt of something that makes people happy, we are all the better for it.

Considering number of parts and starting day (2 weeks ago), I am pleased how it looks. Now, back to armored carmax...

And a sensasional finish it is. Just love the weathering. Remarkably subtle, but it really breaks up what could have easily been dull monotone. Afine addition to your collection. Thanks for joining in.

2 weeks, start to finish, hey. Then you should have no trouble finishing Armored CarMax
